I just love the concept! How a crazy idea came into a really interesting creative project...
Tempted to try? Hot summer is coming in Dubai and I think that’ll make a funny experiment for the summer.

The idea seemed simple enough: turn a tin can into a pinhole camera and have it a take a selfie in a mirror. Little did I know that it would be many months before I got anything presentable and it would turn into a real journey of discovery.

It’s no news that Dubai is a cultural melting pot. What I like with Karama is that you can get exposed to some of the Indian traditions. Here a flower shop dedicated to flower offering typical in the Hindi culture. Not only the shop has a divine smell but the people there are just extremely kind. ⠀

Lockers’ bridge over L’Ile de la Cité⁣

Let’s put it this way: each of these lockers, thousands of them, tens of thousands, all represent a couple in love. Is it not magic? Not only a couple in love but most likely a couple not from Paris! Japanese, Americans, Brazilians, Chinese, I mean, any tourist from any country, on a romantic trip to Paris will execute the same ritual. Bridge after bridge, you will see the same spectacle, like a romantic parade! Once you start considering the volume, you just realize how full of love is the world! It is a very powerful thought.⁣

I always wondered who started this mode of putting lockers on Paris’ bridges. In a certain way, it is a bit tacky and cheesy, but I think in the good way. Lovers need actions to reiterate their love to each other. What better than locking a locker on a bridge and throwing the key in La Seine, to showcase the immutability of their love. I love this cheesiness and I believe that to a certain extend, for tourists, this is what Paris is about. This next few days, we will explore how people show their love to each other: friends, old or young couples, tourists or locals.
