With a heavy heart, I pay tribute to Mr. Ramesh Shukla, whose remarkable journey from arriving in the UAE with a camera and just a dream to becoming one of its most cherished photographers will forever inspire us all.

Mr. Shukla didn’t just take photos he captured history. His lens witnessed the birth of the nation, including the iconic moment of the late Sheikh Zayed signing the Union Agreement in 1971, an image that became known as “The Spirit of the Union”and is etched into the UAE’s collective memory.

I feel deeply honored that he once visited us at World Art Dubai, appreciated my “Door Series” photos, and warmly shared his experience especially his love for capturing doors. His kind words and encouragement will always stay with me.

His legacy of passion, patience, and pure love for photography will continue to inspire every artist and photographer who follows their creative heart. May his soul rest in peace.
