Stay Safe.

I have lived in the UAE since 2012, and for the most part, I have always felt safe. I want to believe that we can stay here safely, but the people in charge of other countries decide for us. Who gave them the right to decide our future? Who gave them the privilege to destroy people's lives, to determine what the world is going to experience as a consequence of their actions?...

28 of February 2026 we woke up in the middle of the military conflict and now we are just trying to stay safe.

Sharjah Scrap Yards Photography with Ricoh

There is something noble about setting out for a simple mission and returning with only photos and stories. In December we had experienced the "little Dubai rain" that turned into flooding in some areas, and just a little after that flood, we decided to take a trip to Sharjah scrap yards - some of us looking for parts, others looking for photography inspiration....

Is Ricoh GR iiiX Too Tight?

I have recently gone to visit my parents at their place of dwelling in the South of Russia. For certain reasons, I haven't been there since 2019, and I thought I would just take the GR iiiX with me for some casual photography - should be just right. Until then, I never truly felt that this 40 mm field of view might be too tight for me....

Exploring the reasons why one might choose GR iiiX over GR iii, or the newer GR iv and wonding if 40mm lens might be too tight for you.

Do You Need A Leica Q3 (28mm)?

What? You Have a Leica? Well, one day I woke up in Munich very tired, and about to wrap up my trade show assignment and go home, when a brilliant idea occured to me. I should definitely go for a walk one last time before leaving, because finally today was the day that it wasn't raining. It was raining for all the whole of 5 days that I was staying in this gem of a city....

Suck it Up and Move On

What happened after we visited the abandoned school in Ras Al Khaimah (in the previous post)? Well, pretty much the same group of people decided to go for a photowalk at 6 AM next day in the old Dubai before it was getting too hot. It was already 33 degrees at the crack of dawn, so that plan didn't really work....

Just a quick heads-up on why there wasn't much updates on this page, or general social media and overcoming photography troubles

Before the weather got too inferno (although, questionable statement), we made a trip to Ras Al Khaimah to photograph an abandoned school. I didn't drive there, my friend did, so even if you asked me how to get there, I wouldn't know, so perhaps just don't. You can ask Faisal, but I doubt he would tell you anything. Color or Black and White?...

Rotterdam: Third Time’s the Charm (Said No One Ever) This was my third time in Rotterdam, not because I’m madly in love with cube houses or Dutch cuisine (though the Bitterballen at the venue are 5 stars), but because Breakbulk Europe insists on happening here year after year. This time, I even booked my hotel in January. Hoping I would save some money, get some quality to choose from, you know all that......

There’s something undeniably cool about the idea of having a camera built into your sunglasses. Maybe it’s the inner spy fantasy, maybe it’s the promise of a true point-of-view shot - seeing almost exactly what you see, hands-free, with zero interruption to the moment. Anyway, I’ve always been drawn to camera glasses, even back when the concept was still more novelty than truly functional tech....

We set off from Ruwais City just after sunrise, the sky still stretching out its first light, and the water - completely still. No wind, no waves, just this surreal calm that made it feel like the boat wasn’t even moving. You could hear every creak of the wood, every splash of bait hitting the sea. It was the kind of silence that feels sacred, like the ocean was letting us in on a secret....

After nearly five years of hosting my portfolio website with Wix, I finally decided it was time to switch domain provider. Not because it didn’t work - but because it simply cost way too much for what I needed. When Wix announced that a business option of the website for the next year would cost me nearly $500 a year, it started to feel less like a digital home and more like a luxury rent for a space that brought in very few actual clients....

Tired of expensive website hosting for portfolio? I am ready to switch domain provider from Wix to Adobe Portfolio
