Pleased to announce that New Dutch Views no.1, Netherlands, 2018 is featured in the exhibition Blue Zone at Kunsthal Rotterdam.

The show brings together over 70 works from corporate collections across the Netherlands, all exploring the color blue in its many meanings and moods. Grateful to be part of it.

I’m happy to share that New Dutch Views no. 8, The Netherlands, 2018 has been used as the cover image for a new book published by Amsterdam University Press: Inleiding tot de islam (Introduction to Islam – A living tradition).

The book, edited by Islamologist Joas Wagemakers, brings together around 40 contributors to offer a broad and nuanced introduction to Islam—its history, ideas, culture, and presence in the Netherlands and Belgium. It’s meant to help students look beyond common clichés and see Islam as a diverse and living tradition.

It’s an honour to see this photograph used in that context.

Thank you to everyone who followed my work here.

This will be my last post. I’ve decided to leave Facebook because I no longer feel this is a space aligned with my values.

Over the past months, I’ve witnessed an increasing presence of propaganda that contradicts principles I care deeply about—including coexistence, justice, and respect for truth. Despite efforts to adjust what I see, this content remains unavoidable.

If you’d like to stay connected, the best way is through my newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/e2f202ce0ab0/mailinglist

One of three works currently on view at Fenix, Rotterdam.
Now part of the Fenix Museum of Migration collection.

“I often get asked why there aren’t any people in my photographs —
but the people are there. In every building, in every street,
in the traces on the prayer rug or on the shelves.
I photograph presences, traces.
Although you do not see the bodies,
they remain connected to what is in the frame.”

Artwork Spotlight + Edition Cap
𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘋𝘶𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘝𝘪𝘦𝘸𝘴 (2018–2019) has become a cornerstone of my photographic practice. This series captures a moment in time in the Netherlands, shaped by questions of place, visibility, and spiritual space.

By photographing Dutch landscapes through mosque windows, I aimed to create images that reflect on how history, culture, and contemporary life intersect. It’s also a meditation on how we observe the world—on framing, perspective, and presence.

In 2021, one of the images from 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘋𝘶𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘝𝘪𝘦𝘸𝘴 was honored with inclusion in the Gallery of Honour of Dutch Photography. I’m grateful for that recognition, and even more so that the series continues to be shared and celebrated in public collections and conversations.

Edition Cap Announcement
All prints from 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘋𝘶𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘝𝘪𝘦𝘸𝘴 are now capped at their original edition sizes:
• Large format: 5 prints per image + 2 artist prints
• Small format: 10 prints per image + 2 artist prints
No further editions or formats will be released.

For inquiries on availability or to book a studio visit, please DM or email me directly.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and engaged with this work.
