“Inshallah”

Have I said it already? Yes, I have, Morocco is extraordinary. I explored yet another incredible spot, the “small desert,” a location along the western coastline near Essaouira.
These golden dunes are a daily stage for all kinds of tourism and activities, but the real beauty lies further ahead, far from sandboarding and quads, walking toward the ocean.
These cliffs are truly something special, telling millions of years of geological history. Sandstones and calcarenites, sedimentary rocks rich in ancient marine deposits, even fossils. The constant action of the Atlantic Ocean, wind, and الرمال has smoothed the surfaces, carving clean walls, cavities, and flowing shapes. The caves are insane.
The distinctive golden-yellow color comes from iron-rich minerals and the calcareous composition of the rock, reflecting light in a powerful way, especially at sunrise and sunset. The contrast between these glowing cliffs, the dunes, and the ocean creates one of the most fascinating coastal landscapes in Morocco.
The first time I came here, the weather was terrible, but it was enough to understand I had to come back. I shot my 360 panorama, but the dramatic foggy mood was not the right condition for a place this epic. So I decided to go all in on one of my sunsets, with that golden light I love, and here we are.
Five minutes after this shot, the cloud you see behind the viewpoint unleashed a spectacular storm. I managed to bring home yet another edge-of-the-limit shot, the kind that probably gives me the most satisfaction.
Inshallah. The title comes from one of the words I heard the most during my three months in Morocco. It literally means “if God wills,” a hopeful and positive expression, exactly what I said when I decided to come back with better conditions.
