Whispers on the Wire

In the quiet stretch of sky, they gather—silent silhouettes against the endless white. Dozens of birds rest on the power lines like notes on a staff, waiting for a song only they can hear. One has already taken flight, wings open, while another circles above, testing the air. Below them, a lone bird sits apart, content in its solitude.
This black-and-white moment feels like a pause between chapters: the everyday made poetic. Power lines that usually hum with electricity now carry something softer—companionship, freedom, the gentle tension of staying or leaving.
Sometimes the most beautiful scenes are the ones we almost overlook. A simple wire, a flock at rest, the soft invitation of open sky. May we all find our own line to perch on, and the courage to lift off when the wind calls.

Peeling Back the Self

This series explores transformation through the remarkable bark of the rainbow eucalyptus. As the tree sheds its rough, weathered outer layers, it reveals vibrant, living new bark in luminous golds, greens, and fiery oranges.

Each image captures a different stage of this natural process – from a hidden heart and watchful eye, through dramatic peeling and scars, to graceful renewal. What appears as mere texture slowly emerges as something deeply personal: vulnerability, resilience, and the courage to let go in order to grow.

Nature reminds us that true beauty often lies beneath the surface.

The inspiration stems from the intense rainbow colour gamut, which truly reflects the name of this marvellous eye catching eucalyptus species. The golden hour of the morning sun captured the colours at its peak and my equipment captured it brilliantly.
