I may have gone a little quiet on here… but don’t worry, I haven’t stopped being completely obsessed with dogs and capturing their personalities.

Life just got a bit full for a while.

But I’m back and honestly, I’ve missed this.

I’m ready to start filling my calendar more again with the good stuff… muddy paws, chaos, big personalities, and all the little moments that make your dog them.

If your dog is your whole world (same 😅), let’s capture them exactly as they are right now, because they don’t stay this version forever.

Dogs only speak to those who listen.

Working as a dog photographer, I’m lucky enough to witness something truly special time and time again, dogs communicating in the most subtle, beautiful ways.

Not with words, but with expression, energy, trust, and connection.

Photos like this say it all.

The way this young pup looks at their breeder… the familiarity, the softness, the unspoken bond already forming. No words, yet everything is being said.

These moments are everywhere once you start noticing them.

A look.
A lean.
A quiet exchange most people might miss.

A gentle reminder to slow down sometimes.

Take a step back.
Be present with your dog.
Really see them.

Because they are always communicating.

We just have to know how to listen.

I’m sometimes asked whether I offer end of life photoshoots, and the answer is yes, I absolutely do.

These sessions are always incredibly special, and I feel deeply honoured to be trusted with such an important moment.

Often it’s not until we’re facing goodbye that we realise just how meaningful photographs become, the small details, the connection, the memories we never want to forget.

I approach these sessions with care, patience, and the utmost respect ♥️

If this is something you’d like to talk about, please feel free to reach out.

A new chapter, carrying a lot of love.

I wanted to quietly share the new face of Becman K9 Photography.

Chicken and I shared something that shaped me deeply, how I see dogs, how I listen to them, and how important it is to meet them exactly where they are. Being her person made me want to learn more, understand more, and show up better for dogs.

Even though Chicken is no longer here, what she gave me is. It continues to guide how I work, how I connect, and how I show up for the dogs in front of my camera.

This new chapter feels true, heartfelt, and full of meaning, honouring what was, while also celebrating what’s still ahead.

You might start to notice this new logo around, and I hope when you do, it feels like what it is to me, a small celebration of connection, trust, and the bond we share with our dogs.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey.

Grief has a way of changing you.

Last September, I lost my German Shepherd, Chicken. And losing her changed everything.

Chicken wasn’t just my dog, she was my constant, my heart, and unknowingly, my greatest inspiration. She was my model long before I ever called myself a photographer. Through her, I learned how powerful a single image could be. How a photograph could hold personality, love, and a moment in time that would never come again.

Before Chicken, there was Mack, the German Shepherd who first sparked my love for photography. When I lost him, I didn’t have the photos to hold onto the way I do now. I didn’t yet understand how important it was to capture those everyday moments, the small details, the quiet memories. His loss is something that still stays with me, and it’s a lesson I carry into every session I shoot.

Now, I’m endlessly grateful for the photos I have of Chicken. On the hard days, those images are something I can cling to. They remind me of who she was, how she looked at me, and the life we shared. And it’s only through loss that I truly understood how priceless those memories are.

This is why I do what I do.

My photography isn’t just about creating beautiful images, it’s about preserving love. It’s about making sure others have something tangible to hold onto when the unthinkable happens.

Because one day, those photos may become everything.

Mack and Chicken are the reason I’m the photographer I am today.
And honoring them means helping others hold onto their memories too.

People often ask me what it’s like having their dog photographed, especially if their dog is a little anxious, reactive, or just full of personality.

The truth is, I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life. I’ve volunteered in rescue and with the RSPCA, spent time fostering, and shared my life with dogs who’ve had their own challenges too, from anxiety to reactivity. Those experiences have shaped how I work far more than any checklist ever could.

I don’t claim to be an expert. What I do bring is patience, understanding, and a genuine respect for each dog as an individual. When I’m photographing, it’s never about forcing a pose or rushing a moment, it’s about the dog in front of me, their comfort, and their pace.

Whether your dog is confident, cautious, sensitive, or somewhere in between, my aim is always the same: to create a calm, safe experience where they can just be themselves. Everything else follows from there.

That’s what matters most to me at Becman K9 Photography!

Better than yesterday, Worse than tomorrow.

Dogs remind us to slow down, to be present, and to live fully in the moment. Their joy is honest, their love uncomplicated, and their presence grounding. That’s what I aim to capture at Becman K9 Photography, real moments, real connection, and the heart of who your dog is.

If you’d like images that feel natural, meaningful, and true, I’d be honoured to create them for you.
