Okay, this one's a little different for me. 👻✨

Long exposure isn't usually my go-to style, but someone had the idea and I tried something a bit more artistic and abstract for one shot — so I set up a slow shutter and let everyone move around the couple while they stayed perfectly still.

The result: the bridal party dissolves into motion while the moment between these two stays completely grounded. Kind of love how it turned out, even outside my usual look.

Always here for trying something new when a couple (or their bridal party 👀) throws a fun idea my way.

Every couple's worst nightmare: rain during the wedding photos. Here's how it actually turned out. ☔

The ceremony wrapped up dry, but by the time we headed out for portraits, the rain had well and truly set in. Not exactly the golden-hour session anyone pictures — but instead of cutting it short, we grabbed umbrellas, embraced the mist, and kept shooting.

Turns out, rain doesn't ruin a portrait session. It just changes the mood — soft, quiet, a little cinematic. Dips, laughter, borrowed jackets thrown over shoulders, a dance in the middle of a damp paddock. Some of my favourite shots of the year came from a session the weather had completely written off.

So if you're planning a wedding and dreading rain during your photo time: don't. Some of the best portraits happen because of the weather, not despite it. 🌧️🤍

Halley & Jay’s Glenelg Beach Elopement

Some weddings don't need a big guest list or a reception hall to feel like exactly the right day. Halley and Jay chose Glenelg Beach for an intimate elopement. It was just the two of them, a small circle of family, and golden evening light. That light made every photo feel like it was lit on purpose. Why Choose a Beach Elopement…...

A day in the life of a wedding photographer: 📸👀🎥

Me: lines up the perfect shot, waits for the right light, holds my breath
Also me: notices the videographer standing directly between me and the couple, again

Some days I swear half my camera roll is just gorgeous documentation of someone else's gimbal. 😂

No shade to the videographer legends out there — you're capturing something totally different and just as important — but if you know, you know. It's basically a competitive sport getting the shot.

Weddings are a marathon dressed up as a party. 🤍

In between the ceremony, the photos, the hugs, the happy tears — there are these small, unplanned moments where everyone just... sits. Catches their breath. Laughs about something only they heard.

This one's my favourite kind of shot — nobody posed, nobody said "look here." Just a bride and her girls, resting for thirty seconds before the next thing on the day's schedule pulled them back up.

It's a long day for everyone involved, but it's these in-between moments that often end up meaning just as much as the big ones.

What a great venue.. Recommend you check them out if you want these wedding vibes

Miracle & Emmanuel’s Wedding at The Manor, Basket Range, South Australia

There's a kind of quiet closeness that comes out when a couple stops performing for the camera. They just lean into each other instead. That's exactly what carried this whole session. Miracle and Emmanuel spent their portrait time tucked into the rolling green paddocks near The Manor. Together, they traded laughs, dips, and lifts against a soft, muted backdrop that felt like something out of a film....

Sometimes the best shots aren't of the couple at all. 📸✨

I couldn't resist this one — Miracle & Emmanuel's welcome sign doubled as the perfect mirror for a little behind-the-scenes moment. It's a small detail most guests probably walked straight past, but for me it was too good not to capture.

This is honestly one of my favourite parts of the job: finding those unexpected little moments in between the "big" shots — the ones nobody planned for, but that end up telling just as much of the story as the vows or the first dance.
