Sundews are a tuberous herb that grow in boggy soils and produce large scented white flowers. It is also insectivorous and produces nectar to attract insects.
It entraps these insects with hairs or 'tentacles' that have sticky droplets. These hairs then release a digestive enzyme and ingest the insect over time.
The Kaurna people would use the red pigment from the tuber as a decorative paint or for staining
