Reintroducing myself - new vision, new fire & a new business name to match! Hey there, hello, I’m Carlie. Owner of By Carlie Photography, formerly known as The LaLa Collective. The name “LaLa” holds deep personal significance to me but I’ve decided it’s time for something a little more grown-up, a little more versatile and a lot more in line with my vision for this business.
I’m a wife, Mumma, messy clean-freak, animal-loving, craft/DIY nerd, gal from the bush that picked up a camera during our era on cattle stations and in cattle trucks, and I haven’t put it down since. I love capturing connection in all forms; newborn, maternity, families, couples. I love working out in the bush but am super partial to an in-home session, bonus points if it gives “nostalgia”. I’m absolutely rubbish at sharing my work - being a mum, running two family businesses and working amongst all other life commitments means I’m constantly falling short in this area! But hey, what’s business without goals to strive towards right! Just know I’m always here ready to capture your moments, until stated otherwise.
Since becoming a mum, I’ve found my photography style evolving in ways I can’t explain - I feel more in tune to the little things, the fleeting moments that would ordinarily fly by unnoticed unless you’d felt them personally before. I’m way better at just being in the calm and quiet, and knowing when it’s time to let the chaos unfold. I’ve never been about “controlling” my sessions, instead allowing everything to naturally evolve into something fun and special but I dunno, there’s been a shift in all the right ways since my mum lens was installed.
A huge thank you to my clients, family, friends and complete strangers that have supported and encouraged me in business so far. Small business life ain’t for the faint hearted but it’s always been so worth it to capture memories for people like you. So thanks for being here - looking forward to connecting with you all in 2026 and beyond!
