Lately I’ve been working on my website and style as a photographer. I love romantic, dreamy, and black and white photography, every now and then I like to combine them with a poem to enhance the image and turn it into a story. Something that feels more like art, or a feeling captured in an image. Portraying a sense of freedom or wonder, something that suits the person in front of the camera as if it’s made specifically for them, which it is. Vernal Votive

A storm is on the horizon,
Blowing away the pressure
And the salt from my skin.

She, dancing to thunder’s song.
Her skin like water,
Reflecting a light I cannot see.

Like the unseen force that swells a plum.
One more bite,
While it’s still warm with sun.

As the heat reaches its height,
I join her dance
And leave behind

The need to know
What is wrong
And what is right.

Morphogenic Axis

In my work, themes like the macro and micro world often return, also concepts like chaos and structure, yin & yang, light and dark; seemingly two ends of the spectrum and how they create life together. Not as opposites, but as interdependent forces.

I believe this tension between those forces is where creation takes place.

In biology, morphogenesis describes the process by which a system organizes itself and develops form.
How a single cell turns into an entire organism.
A process of creation.

I see this scientific term as a metaphor for something broader. Similar patterns appear all throughout nature. As if there’s an underlying force of life, like the Tao, something that not only shapes nature but perhaps consciousness as well.

I think it’s time to merge some of my worlds a little bit more.

I used to draw a lot of figurative art before I started with photography. I used to sell my work as art prints and was part of an art shop/collective and sold my hand sewn T shirts that were screen printed with my artwork. But bit by bit, I started to focus more on photography, while behind the scenes I continued drawing, but I haven’t shared it in a while.

My figurative work started to move more to abstract work, like you’re seeing here.
Most of my artwork is inspired by inner experiences. I wanted to find a way to capture these feelings/states of being I was in, and I felt like figurative work couldn’t do that for me anymore.

I started to become less interested in depicting the world as it looks and more interested in creating work that’s focused on experiences and states of consciousness. And this is the result.
