There's a partial lunar eclipse over Brisbane tonight — 96%, close enough to call it a blood moon. Astrologers will tell you eclipses ask you to release what no longer serves you. I don't need the stars to tell me that one; I've been feeling it in my business for a while.
30 years photographing other people's authority, celebrity, news worthy stories, achievements, creations and empires. Corporate leaders, business owners, brands stepping into their next chapter — and somewhere in there I stopped updating my own.
So here I am - practicing what I preach! New logo. New colours. And this — a brand new portrait, the first in years that actually looks like who I am now. I’ve grown up a bit since the mid 90’s when I first started my career.
This isn't a rebrand for the sake of a rebrand. It's alignment. I'm aiming for the best era of my career, and I suspect a lot of you — women in your 40s, 50s, 60s, sitting on decades of hard-won knowledge — are standing at your own version of this moment, even if you haven't said it out loud yet.
So here's my question for you tonight: what version of yourself have you quietly outgrown? What are you still carrying — a title, a look, a way of doing things — that stopped fitting a while ago and you just haven't released it yet?
You don't need a blood moon to give yourself permission. But if you need a sign, this is it.
Redefining doesn't have an age limit. If anything, this is when the authority actually kicks in.
And I am unapologetically stepping into mine 🌘
