This is a shot of the Old One Tree Hotel on the Cobb & Co highway north of Hay. The original hotel was built in 1862 & got it's name from a lone tree gum growing in a clay pan near by. It thrived for many years as a Cobb & Co way point. It burnt down & was rebuilt in 1903. Its' licence lapsed it 1942. I took this photo in the late afternoon sun , 4th September 2012. I believe it had been restored and open for a pub for awhile in recent years.

Before turning right off the A1 to go to Mount Ive Homestead, I checked out Iron K**b .This shot is looking west on Iron K**b Road. Note the tiny spot on the top of the pile, its a huge electric shovel.

In 2011 on the way to taking a sunset at the One Tree Hotel on the Cobb & Co highway I stop for this shot. I was so glad I did, because when I got to the hotel the cloud on the horizon completely block the setting sun.

View looking south from the tunnel at the Yarwal mines ruins. Gold was found in the area in 1852, following earlier silver discoveries in 1849. Major mining took place from the 1870s through the 1890s. While mostly low-grade ore, some extremely rich patches were extracted. Notable operations included The Pinnacle, Eclipse, Pioneer, Homeward Bound, and Caledonian mines.
