This might have been my favourite photo from the shoot!

Late afternoon sunlight coming through the window at a very low angle and shining through clear glass bottles filled with golden oil. It made the most gorgeous effect when paired with the textured stone tile backdrop!

Natural light shines yet again :)

This page, and the brand NFE Design is where my product photography work lives.

It’s also where many of you have followed along for years.
Thank you. I genuinely appreciate the support 🧡

I’ve recently created a separate space to hold the thinking and mentoring side of my practice. A space to share the conversations I’ve been having around creative authority, sustainability and building meaningful work without burning out.

That space (on Instagram) is .
If that resonates, you’re very welcome there.

And if you’re here for the photography and design work, nothing changes. You’re exactly where you should be.

I grew this! 🌻

There’s no multiple pages long life story to read, no teeny tiny text on the images that you have no hope of reading even with your glasses on, and no link to click to find out the secret behind my sunflower growing success. No code words or AI bots sending you a zillion messages asking you to buy something if you happen to say hi to me in the comments...

Just some sunflower microgreens that I accidentally let grow a little too long, so I popped a few of them in a pot to see what happened.

Everything in the world feels quite heavy at the moment. There’s so much going on in the news and in daily life, and it’s hard to know how to process all that energy. So, I’m trying to insert some more creative moments into my days... just to do what I can to decompress.

With all that said, today I’m treating Instagram like it’s a 2012 era photo sharing app, and doing just that! Sharing photos 📷

Take a scroll through the pics, I hope they bring a little sunshine to your day xx

PS: zoom in on the last pic for a little surprise :)

Ahhh, hello Vogue! 😲

Not something I had on my 2026 bingo card, but pretty darn stoked to create a space for it and tick this one off! ✅

Thanks to my fab clients for trusting me to shoot your rebrand late last year! 🤩⭐️

5 more sleeps till Christmas Day! 🎄🎅🏻 12 more sleeps till the end of the year! 🎉 🗓️

I’m in that strange in-between space that always shows up around this time of year. Anyone else?

Clearing clutter. Reworking what already exists. Deciding what new things to invite in. Letting things settle before the new year and the next chapter.

As we start to wrap up this number 9 year and move into the next cycle, I’m feeling like some chapters in my life and my biz are finished. 🔥🔥🔥

It’s definitely time for blank space + intentional resets and I am so looking forward to letting the bigger picture of this new era of Renee take shape.

Today’s Sagittarius new moon brings the perfect time to start to look at the adventure, the dreams and the higher vision you have for 2026.

Let me know in the comments how you are feeling this week :) Crazy busy prepping for Xmas and going to all the social gatherings or hiding out at home?

PS: If you’re starting to look at what support you will need in the new year, DM me anytime. I’ll be checking in over the break to answer any questions.

‼️ Spoiler alert:
It wasn’t the gear!

The camera’s almost 6 years old, and that lens… I’ve had it since 2013.

It took 30 minutes to clean up the mess and even longer to retouch the final series of images.

Turns out it’s not just about tech. It’s patience, practice and trusting your gut.

(Plus a healthy dose of creativity and perfectionism on the side!)

📷 I’m still accepting donations for a gear upgrade though. DM me if you’re offering 🤪

I’ve been chatting with a client from the past recently [ the amazing Vanessa from Cake Style ] and it got me thinking about the early days when we’d often shoot together multiple times per month.

Cake. Cake. And more cake.
Doughnuts, macarons, brownie, fudge.
Vanessa is the master of it all, and my sweet tooth was so damn happy every time a shoot was booked in!

But the one thing that always made me uncomfortable... Every shoot required a little destruction in the name of creation.

Slicing into a gorgeous cake, just to get the final shots required to go with the cake decorating tutorial.
The perfect slice. The inside reveal. The story behind the creation.

There’s something bittersweet about it (haha! pun intended!) Creating something beautiful, then having to destroy it just to show it off.

But maybe that’s the whole point of creativity.
We build, we break, we share.
And tomorrow, we do it again.

* Of course... once it is cut we can eat it. So there’s that.

Messy, but make it art 💕

Every experiment gets us closer to that perfect shot 📷🎉

If you’ve ever had glitter in your hair or paint on your favourite jeans, you’ll get it. 🎉 Creativity is messy, unpredictable, and so worth it.

What’s the messiest part of your creative process? Let us know in the comments and follow for more behind the scenes moments!

Creativity is play. Mess. Exploration.
It is not a talent.

📷 When I first landed on skincare products as a new creative direction for my photography business, it looked like a mess.

Swatches on every surface. Half-used products. Stains on the carpet.
Bad lighting. Wrong settings.
Scrambling to find the right tools.

So many ideas that didn’t land.
(So many!)

Most of that is the part no one sees.
The tests. The experiments. The “what if I just try this?” moments.

The truth is, creativity isn’t something you magically have.
It’s something you do.
You practise.
You play.
You get it wrong. Often.

You make space, and slowly, something clicks.

It’s not about waiting for the perfect idea.
The most creative people I know just start.
They let it be fun.
They let it be messy.

✨ So, what do you think? ✨
Is creativity a talent you’re born with, or a way of living?

Let’s talk about it.
