Have you ever wondered how does a Black hole form?| Cosmic window🪟
If not this is the right place to begin your learning journey🤩🤩

A black hole forms from a very massive star, typically more than 20 times the mass of the Sun, after it exhausts its nuclear fuel.During its life, the star undergoes fusion, balancing gravity with the outward pressure of energy, but once it fuses elements up to iron, fusion stops because iron cannot release energy.Without the outward pressure, the core collapses under gravity, causing a supernova explosion that ejects the outer layers. If the remaining core has a mass greater than about 3 solar masses,no force can stop the collapse, and it compresses into a singularity surrounded by an event horizon(The event horizon is the boundary around a black hole beyond which nothing can escape, not even light. It marks the point where the escape velocity equals the speed of light. Anything that crosses the event horizo matter or radiation is pulled irreversibly toward the singularity at the center of the black hole i.e in simple terms it means point of no return)forming a black hole. The size of the event horizon is defined by the Schwarzschild radius within which the escape velocity exceeds the speed of light, meaning nothing can escape.Black holes can be detected indirectly through accretion disks, where infalling material emits X-rays due to intense friction and heating

Have you ever wondered how does a Star Form? | Cosmic Window 🔭

If not, this is a great place to begin your learning journey.A star's journey typically starts within a nebula, which is a huge cloud of gas and dust, primarily hydrogen. When gravity starts to pull this stuff together, the cloud begins to shrink and warm up because the energy from gravity turns into heat.(You might wonder why clouds get hotter?) That's because as the cloud collapses due to gravity, its potential energy transforms into kinetic (heat) energy, raising the cloud's temperature. This leads to the formation of a protostar, a hot, dense center that keeps getting bigger as more material (dust and gas) falls onto it. Once the center hits around 10 million degrees, hydrogen atoms start merging to form helium, which releases a massive amount of energy. This energy generates an outward pressure that counteracts gravity's inward pull, a balance called hydrostatic equilibrium. At this stage, a steady main sequence star is born, radiating light for millions or even billions of years, much like our own Sun 🌞✨
