If you follow my main account ( photography by Jennifer Taylor) then you'll already know this, but in case you don't, here it is again:

👗Frocktober Shoots for 2026 are booking now! 👗

Frocktober is an annual fundraising campaign for the , and helps raise funds to support research into ovarian cancer -- in particular work that is trying to develop and early detection test.

Most people wear a different dress each day for the month of October. But I do things a little differently. Instead of wearing dresses, I make them.

Well, kind of.

I make what I call a , just by draping, pinning, tying and taping fabric around you, to give the illusion of a dress. (Most of them are much more elaborate than this one 😉)

$200 from every booking will go straight the the OCRF.
And you'll get hair and makeup styling, plus a full service shoot with loads of time for your own wardrobe as well as the mock frock that I make for you. Perfect for a bo***ir shoot that does some good in the world.

This is me.
Jen.

I'm a mum, a wife, a photographer, writer, educator, and once upon a time a yoga teacher. I used to try to compartmentalise all those different parts of me, but now I just think "f*ck it" and bring all of it to everything I do.

I can't stand shallow conversation. Big gatherings of strangers and having to make small talk bores me to the point of wanting to rip out a vein, but give me a small group ready to go deep into all sorts of topics, and I'm there. Set it to the crackling warmth of an open fire, and I'll be in heaven.

Trending music and going places because they're "insta famous" don't rate for me, but long slow walks with time to notice which plants are about to burst into flower are divine.

I guess what I'm saying is depth is what I look for. I need things to be meaningful. I love to take my time with things, to savour and experience fully.

And that's the same when I photograph you.

If it's a quick snapshot you're after, I'm not the photographer for you.

If you're looking for someone who will take some time to get to know you, to hear the story you want to tell, someone who will help you stop performing, and start expressing the real you, then let's talk more.

Love getting feedback like this, because it's not just about the photos. A shoot with me is an opportunity to experience being photographed well, by someone who takes time to help you look and feel a million bucks. It's an opportunity to learn to feel comfortable in front of a camera, and to learn to love yourself as you are right now.

A lot of women worry about what to wear for their bo***ir session. Believe me: it's super easy. Way easier than wardrobe for a personal branding session, for example! My advice is to keep it simple, and look for great texture, like these gorgeous lacy boy leg knickers and leather biker jacket.

I'm often asked whether I insist on being able to share your photos publicly.

No, no I don't.

That's something we discuss, and reach a decision on -- often only after you've been back to the studio to see your photos. (I don't share anything before then.)

Most of the women I photograph are so proud of how good they look that they give me permission to use their images however I wish. And I must say I love that... because you *should* be proud of the incredible woman you are.

Some, though, request that I only share de-identified images, while others ask that their images remain completely private.

Any of those positions is fine, and it's up to you which way you go.

So if you've been thinking you'd like to see what it's like to have a sensual editorial style bo***ir shoot, but you've been holding back because you don't want the whole world to see your images, that's no excuse.

It's way more important to me that you come in and see just how incredible you are, and that we take a shot that you love so much that you put it up somewhere in your home where you (and only you, if you want) see it every. single. day.

One of my clients has her favourite image framed and hanging outside the door of her walk in robe so that it's the last thing she sees when she's finished getting ready for the day. She looks at is and thinks. "Yep. I am that much of a goddess", gives herself an imaginary high five, and takes that feeling with her throughout her day.

That's way more important than whether I can share the photos online or not.
