Father’s Day was yesterday and today we’ve been thinking about all the father figures whose influence stays with us.

The grandfathers who passed down family stories. The stepdads who stepped in. The uncles, coaches and family friends who made someone feel safe, supported or understood.

Not every father figure is called Dad.

But their stories matter just as much.

Sometimes you just have to be a big kid.
We were filming Book Week at our children’s school and there was absolutely no chance we weren’t getting in on the costume action.
The kids dress up. The teachers dress up. So obviously we’re getting involved too.
And yes, it helps with filming. When you’re dressed just as creatively as everyone else, the camera suddenly feels a lot less intimidating.
But mostly, it’s just fun.
We think it’s good for kids to see adults being silly sometimes. Dressing up. Playing along. Not taking themselves too seriously.
Growing up doesn’t mean you have to stop having fun.
And apparently being a filmmaker occasionally requires a costume.
We’re okay with that.

Our business has never really been about cameras, lights, or nicely framed shots (although we do that too!). It’s about people.

It’s about the stories we carry, the ones we forget to tell, and the ones that deserve to be kept forever.
