Seven years ago today, Cudda danced into our lives — and it seems a rather fitting anniversary on which to properly launch Cheeky Dingo Photography on Instagram!

Some of you already know our dingo rather well, while others may have wondered where the “Cheeky Dingo” idea actually came from. So, as I am looking to give my photography a more regular home on social media, I thought it might be fitting to officially introduce the culprit himself…

His name is Cudda, and he is a Western Australian desert dingo.

My husband found him as a weeks-old pup, all on his own, abandoned (likely orphaned) in the bush, near where we used to live, one sunny winter afternoon in August 2019. He was promptly adopted by his one-year-old dog-sister Binnie, and within days, he settled into our mine-site-based lifestyle, alongside our established goat and cat companions, and a bunch of fluoro-wearing mine workers.

He has graced us with his loving presence, mischievousness, demands, quirks and antics ever since.

And today, we are celebrating exactly seven years of disruption, inspiration, steep learning curves and, above all, a type of love unlike anything we had experienced before!

He’s kind of a halfway house between a dog, a cat and a goat — intelligent, shy, cautious, skittish and funny as. Aloof to most, but immensely attached to his pack. And always, ALWAYS extreme in every emotion he expresses.

Oh — and very, very cheeky!!

Despite what Cudda would like to think, however, my photography is not ALL about the dingo! Life in the bush, on the road and, more recently, in the beautiful South West of WA has given me countless opportunities to photograph the many different aspects of the world around us. Through Cheeky Dingo Photography, I am hoping to build an online repository of images and stories that exemplify this ongoing journey.

Check out the photographic artwork of club members at the Goorbilyup Gallery at the Bridgetown-Greenbushes Visitor Centre in Bridgetown, which presents scenes that reflect our area's natural beauty, wildlife, furry companions, and vibrant music scene, to name a few.

The exhibition is open daily for the entire month of August, 10 am - 2 pm on weekdays and 10 am - 1 pm on weekends.

"Capturing the South-West" Photo Exhibition

The Bridgetown Camera Club wishes to invite you to our annual photographic exhibition!

For the first time, our club members will exhibiting their photographic artwork at the Goorbilyup Gallery, located in the Bridgetown-Greenbushes Visitor Centre in Bridgetown (old railway station building).

This year's theme "Capturing the South-West" encompasses scenes that reflect our area's natural beauty, wildlife, furry companions, and vibrant music scene, to name a few. The imagery is presented on a variety of media and formats, and all artwork is available for purchase. If you wish to make an enquiry about additional copies of exhibited images, please ask the friendly staff at the visitor centre for further assistance.

Hello my friends!
I am excited to share with you that one of the most momentous experiences in my life, which I had the honour to share with Charlie Spencer while out bush prospecting in June last year, has now been featured as part of an ABC special documentary, by Chris Lewis, about the relationship between people and the night sky. Still a couple of Cudda “Dingo Reflection” jigsaw puzzles available for purchase, amongst other great artwork from local Bridgetown - Greenbushes photographers turned into puzzles, at “Puzzletown 6255”, the largest puzzle museum in the southern hemisphere!
