Dear Friends, I hope you’ve had a fantastic year!! ✨This year for me has been about being BOLD ✨

I’ve spent very little time behind the camera, but I’ve poured my energy into painting and creating loads of *Blooming Ladies* in my Dot & Co range.

I also stretched into new territories with writing short stories and vignettes. Fuelled by that, I took the biggest, boldest step in starting uni again. I didn’t think I could do it, but it turns out I love it! I’m flourishing and forging ahead. 🌱

I do have a few hybrid projects simmering, but study is my main focus right now.

Sadly, that means I am putting this page into hibernation.

Thank you, thank you, thank you ALL so much for all your support, and investing in my work. I am truly gratelul 🙏💝🌟

In the meantime, my personal FB page is public and I’ll share updates there.

My top selling / favourite photographic prints will always be available. And maybe a few sneaky new ones. The website will stay active: https://shereesweeney.com.au/

🎄 Merry Christmas, and blessings on blessings to you all! 🎄

Looking forward to a **BREAKTHROUGH** new year 💛🌟💛

Where the Bush Meets the Beach - Reflection from my Verandah

Earthy Coastal
Weathered.
Textured.
Natural.
Raw.

Where the bush meets the beach.
Eucalyptus leaves and driftwood.
Gum blossoms and shells.
Banksia and coral.
Rich soil and golden sand.
Wind in the trees and waves on the shore.
Kookaburras laughing and seagulls chanting ‘mine’

Luscious linens, chunky timber, sea salt and sage.
Aroma of coconuts and freshly brewed tea.

Hammocks hanging on the weathered verandah, surfboards leaning against the shed.
Fancy shells and unique pebbles—collected and scattered, along dado rails, in glass jars and handmade pottery.

Where time sits and memories idle, where photographs and paintings merge.
Tropical prints, sarongs over handrails, big hats on the hooks.

Polished floorboards and sandy mats. Vibrant beach towels and floral sheets.
Rattan baskets and carved timber lampstands.

A palette of Olive Green and Watermelon red, Coral Pink and Ocean blue, Seafoam and Sand, Mousse and Custard—nature’s brushstrokes.

Grilled sausages, prawns tucked into sandwiches, a seersucker tablecloth and a checkered flask. Fine Teacups and saucers, and bamboo platters.
Mismatched glassware and assorted cutlery.
Vanilla candles and mozzie coils.

Where contentment soaks and my expectant heart can breathe.
Where my soul sings and my mind can marinate.
**sigh**

It’s not just a place. It's home.

— Written from the verandah, barefoot and sun-kissed.

Whispers from the Pier—a coastal memory piece, not just a poem but a keepsake, written with absolute love...

The morning arrives not with fanfare, but with a slow unbuttoning of sky.
Light leans in—soft, apricot-tinted—gently waking the bay.
The tide, half-asleep, murmurs secrets to the sand.
Pelicans glide low, their wings carving silence into the air,
like old men tracing stories in the dust.

A breeze stirs the pandanus, lifting the scent of salt and sun-warmed bark—
a perfume of memory: driftwood bleached to bone, faded towels flung over railings.

The Pier stands like a sentinel, ribs of timber stretching into the sea’s breath—
a spine of memory, worn smooth by footsteps and salt.
Its timber bones creak beneath the weight of yesterday,
and even the gulls seem gentled here, their cries softened by distance,
as if the morning has pressed a hush across the landscape,
inviting stillness to sit a while.

The greetings of early risers drift across the water—
murmured hellos, the clink of mugs, the aroma of coffee carried on the breeze.
These small offerings ripple outward, then soften,
not lost, but held.

Messages bloom in the sand, drawn by small hands and weathered wood—
names, hearts, secrets, swirls.
The tide does not erase them.
It gathers them gently, like a grandmother collecting letters,
pressing each one to her chest.
They are not forgotten.
They are absorbed—salt-kissed and swaddled—
nurtured like a hug that lingers long after the arms have gone.

By dusk, the Pier glows with the hush of endings.
The horizon wears its bruises beautifully—lavender, rust, and gold.
Gulls wheel like loose thoughts,
and the sea, ever the curator, arranges the day’s offerings in its quiet archive.

The laughter, the drawings, the footprints—
all held in the ocean’s tender collection,
where nothing is truly gone,
only transformed.

New rhythm, familiar heartbeat…

This page began with sunlit shoots, ocean-hazed edits, and those luscious textured jetties—my lens catching splashes and memories in equal measure.

Then came the pencils.
The paint.
The portraits.
The pivots.
The scent trails and characters.

I tried to keep the worlds separate—photography here, art elsewhere—but it felt disconnected. Like half a sentence waiting for its storyline.

I tried to keep them together on the same sunny verandah, let them mingle. But the art was the loudest. It needed to roar.

So, I’ve launched myself. Finally. Into a space that holds my art, my storytelling, the whimsy and the wonder.

I built my own little empire—grown from paper dolls with sass—founded in dots and deco styling, and sprinkled with colour, character, and playful chaos.

🎨 "Dot & Co." is my beach-to-bush emporium—a canvas of cheeky characters (including Kev) and textured beauty, zhushed with salt, story, and a hint of mischief.

🌿 This page remains Sheree Sweeney Photography & Art—a place for my camera work, where stories are framed through my lens, from coastal captures to creative prints, and maybe even a few publications when the tide’s right.

📸 Photographing Hervey Bay has been so beautiful. Therapeutic, even.
Healing when I needed it most.
There’s something in those textured jetties, the wave splashes and stunning sunsets that gently rewired me.
But to be honest? I needed more.
More character. More cheek.
More creativity to float my boat and splash colour where the tide wouldn’t.
Truth is, I haven’t been photographing much lately.
And I haven’t been to the beach daily for some time.

My days are full — designing, zhushing, writing, storytelling.
My life is rich with creativity. It feels wondrous. It feels right.

💻 My website brings everything together: Sheree Sweeney + Dot & Co. That’s how it’ll stay… until it isn’t.

If you’re here for the photography, you're in the right place. Stay tuned.

If you're here for the characters, the rituals, the releases and the stories—they bloom over at Dot & Co on Facebook and Instagram.
That’s where the stories dance, the rhythms ripple, and the bikkies get dunked.

Thank you for walking with me—through all the pivots, petals, and little poetic winks.
I am truly, truly grateful.

🌸 A Name Change, A Tribute, A Place at the Table
Some images speak louder than words — and this one has whispered its way into hearts far and wide.

I originally called her Daphne, but today, she’s been lovingly renamed Margaret — in honour of my beautiful mum, who passed away, and another remarkable woman also named Margaret, who passed two years ago as well.

Her family fell in love with this print, telling me it looks so much like her — the resemblance is truly remarkable.

So now, Margaret holds space for both. For the memories, the laughter, the quiet wisdom, and the lipstick-stained teacups they left behind.

We hold a place for them at the table.
We celebrate the beauty they brought into our lives.
And we let their memory bloom — in fabric, in stories, and in every gifting ritual that follows.

May Margaret’s memory live on — stitched into kindness, wrapped in warmth, and served with biscuits. 🍪

With love,
Sheree — creator, curator, and daughter of a Bloom Queen.

💄 Styled By Life: The Watermelon Edition..Watermelon red and wildly unapologetic—I just put it on and already wearing it like a personality. I'm obsessed with the lipstick and writing about it. Turns out, one shade can unlock a story, curate a mood, and inspire a whole blog corner. Welcome to The Juice. 💋🍉

I’m often asked if I’m a stylist—yep. I style my days, my moods, my messes, and my miracles. From lipstick to the clothesline (actually it’s the dryer but let’s not kill the fantasy), I curate chaos and colour with equal flair.

Layered with designing days, eucalyptus breeze, and the occasional load of socks gone rogue, my life’s the storyboard—slow-lit by morning light, stitched with backyard meanders, and soundtracked by the hum of my brain doing overtime... almost drowns out the neighbour’s banter and goings-on.

And accessories? Never forget ’em: sass, resilience, a splash of hope, and triple shot coffee served strong with a side of “let’s have a crack.” 💋🍉📻

It’s not just about the lipstick—it’s about the mood it unlocks.

The bold shade doesn’t just match the cushion covers or the cordial glass, it declares a vibe. It’s equal parts backyard glamour, accidental tuckshop fashion, and designing through the tumble of to-do lists.

Its styling from the inside out. Curating chaos. Dressing the moment, even if the only place you’re going is between the lounge and the lemon tree.

✨ Turns out one swipe of watermelon red wrote the whole moodboard. Ready to sip it in full?

If you're brave, you can read the full blog on The Juice: Behind the Lipstick—Styled by Chaos, Powered by Coffee.

💬 PS. Got a bold shade that unlocked your own mood moment? Spill it—cushion covers optional.

I think I created my dream guy... this is Kev.

Kev’s a man of few words and many gestures. He’s the bloke behind the curtain of practicality, folding emotion into action like a well-packed toolbox. He won’t tell you he loves the soap—but he’ll use it twice and never mention it again.

He’s the kind of quiet legend who mows the lawn before a party, wipes the bench when you weren’t looking, and listens to the birds while pretending he’s just checking the gutters.
Don’t expect speeches. But do expect sincerity, subtle pride, and a deep respect for a well-folded towel.

Floral shirt? ✅
Straw hat with lived-in credibility? ✅
Two fish like he’s hosting Bloke’s MasterChef: Hervey Bay Edition? ✅
Denim shorts, cross necklace, and that “I didn’t say I was romantic, but I brought dinner” energy? ✅✅✅

"Real affection is in the prep work. You don’t need words when the Esky’s full and the spritz smells right." Just sayin.

🌟"Brush of Wings" - Seven seagulls rest along the railing, spaced like notes on a slow, sea-borne melody—until one lifts off, caught mid-flight in the golden hush.

Behind them, the ocean glows as the sun rises, the sky tipped in lavender and flame, and a sailboat glides silently towards the open waters.

The pier stretches calmly forward, planked in light and quiet.

One moved, and the whole moment shifted.

“Brush of Wings” has such quiet motion—stillness interrupted just enough to feel alive, composing a sea-breeze-soaked ballad... that pause-then-lift feeling, like a breath just before laughter.

While the gulls are mid-flight and the tide’s holding its breath, I’m offline for a little while to give my website and socials a long-overdue spruce-up (think gumption, fresh paint, and a proper tidy under the bonnet).

I'll be back online soon with a whole new look, new gear, and fresh stories from the salty end of the street. Until then, I’m unplugged, unwired, and elbows-deep in the good stuff. 💛💛💛

It's huge and I'm ridiculously excited!!

Catch you on the flip side ✌️

I’ve been deep in my SHE zone, creating loads of goodies for the gals—and while the ‘His & Hers’ collection has taken off, I kept getting asked:
“Do you have bloke gear?”

So I listened. And then I unleashed. 🔥

Introducing the BLOKES COLLECTION—for the legends who don’t just show up, they turn it up.

From 'The Rod Father' to 'Carnival Kev' and 'The Fish Whisperer', these pieces bring the personality, the cheek, and the laid-back swagger.

Perfect for the bloke with a story to tell, a snag to flip, or a fish to charm. 🎣🔥

Kicking things off here with…
'The BBQ Boss!'

He is... the bloke who turns a simple sausage sizzle into a full-blown event. 🚀🔥
Shirt’s loud. Tongs locked and loaded. Dad jokes are really awful.
But he’s running the backyard like a well-oiled barbie.
Flame master. Snag flipper. And the reason no one ever leaves hungry. ❤️

P.S. Neverrrr ask him if the onions go on first or last.

Here's a throwback to warmer days, and Torquay Jetty never disappoints. 🌊☀️

Happy Chooseday!! Making the cozy choice tonight—fireplace on, blankets out, and settling in for 'Ugly Betty' (don't judge me its 'research'😜) 🔥✨
