M**O's - pt 1

Every Dark M**o I try to get out and about for a night of street photography with my 50mm lens.

I had some amazing conversations and generally people are really nice.

Thanks to everyone who let me take their pic, I’ll definitely send copies to those who gave me their details.

Here's a look at the first batch.

Lucky Last - A fortunate fall of light, deep shadows, and a creative use of aperture came together to create this image. I also hunted for the one leaf that spoke to me, almost asking for it's picture to be taken.

Sometimes less is more. The simplicity of the scene creates a photograph that feels both strong and bold, allowing light and shadow to tell the story.

Sometimes nature does most of the work. With a bit of know how I was able to create the effect almost entirely in-camera, with minimal editing required.

DARK LIGHT 2026 - TPT's M**O FOTO WALK returns at 6pm this Friday night 🔥📷.

Expect chaos. Embrace the unknown. Shoot like the world’s ending.

Step into the shadows with Tasmanian Photography Tours as Dark M**o descends on the city with its eerie glow and pagan heartbeat. Join us for a gritty, immersive photo walk along the waterfront—where fire meets fog, and art bleeds into the night.

We’ll chase neon reflections in puddles, frame ghostly silhouettes in red light, and hunt for the raw, unscripted moments that only reveal themselves under cover of darkness.

Expect a sensory overload of visual stimuli. Whether you're into street, abstract, or low-light landscape, this workshop will push your creativity into the unknown.

Last years walks sold out, so get in quick - Book now via the website.

Fagus - I made it up to Cradle 2 weeks ago and was really surprised to see how much colour was left in the fagus. Greens, yellows and even a red or two..

The seasons certainly have shifted. It's crazy how much variation I'm noticing with deciduous plants, fruits, fungi, snow etc.

How about you, what changes have you noticed over the last few years with the weird weather patterns we are experiencing?
