761, and the crew and sleeping cars will head back after a rest for the crew, leaving at 04:20 Sunday morning!

Kapooka thunder! With 3801 running shuttle trips to Uranquinty, we set ourselves up near the top of the climb to wait for the train, and cook some bacon and eggs for breakfast.

Gunfire from the military base was drowned out by the roar of the 38 on the first trip of the day.

K 160 usually calls the Victorian Goldfields Railway home, but has been at Newport for the last 12 years undergoing a major overhaul.
It was fantastic to see, and ride behind the loco from Werribee to Newport on Sunday, its first revenue service on the mainline for a very long time.

An outstanding job by those involved in the project!

Looking back to April 2021 when 3801 hauled a couple of solo trips from Junee to Cootamundra.

A few friends and I rode the first trip, and photographed the second one.
