LIONS SENIORS DISCOVER SOME BELIEF !

The game that could prove to be a pivotal moment in the Lions season.They were almost dead and buried late in the third term, 22 points down and nothing going their way.

The whole side raised their game and converted opportunities went to star players Mitch Walker & Ethan Brock…who between them booted 4 of the last 7 Lions goals. This last quarter effort gave them an unbelievable win by 19 pts. A 38 point turnaround.

Fantastic to watch, photograph and be there to witness 🦁

Hobart are certainly a side on the rise. Their improvement this season has been mercurial. They hold down 3rd place on the ladder behind the unbeaten Sorell and powerhouse team Cygnet.

RESERVES 97 POINT WIN PUTS A SMILE ON THE DIAL

One of their best wins of the year. Junior Stanway’s reserves have formed up their 5th position on the ladder. It presented as a danger game with Hobart only 4pts astern of the Lions on the ladder prior to the game. Brent Bester led the scoring with 5 goals !
Lingy was adjudged best on ground. ( Later in the evening he also secured the rare double of best-off-field) He has an engine that boy 🦁😎💪

COLTS LEARNING EACH WEEK

The young and fresh 2026 Lions Colts respresented the club strongly on Saturday, going down by just 17pts against the second placed Tigers. Straighter kicking may have assisted their cause - they booted an inaccurate 5.12 which in the end may have tipped the scale the Tigers’ way. Hugh Murray, Ryan Parremore, Oscar Wynter, Hayden de Kievit, Gus Pettit & Jethro Penney the best for Huonville.

We struggled to get alot of clear on field action for the women today (due to the super fog)… its fair to say we ‘mist’ quite a few pics. But any photos are better than none!

The Lionesses were super impressive keeping the Tiges goalless all day and running out winners by 53 points. Alisha Stanway led the way with best on, with fantastic support from Mollie and Maya, Airlee, Brooke and a magnificent 5 goal return from Chelsea.

The women are right in the mix of the finals cluster … enjoy the week off now as Claremont is next !

Fantastic post game scenes tonight as the Lions dug deep to find a way- just like they did in last year’s grand final. In a superb come from behind win the entire effort in the final quarter was music to the ears of the club and fans. The victory not only keeps the Lions in touch with the finals but instills some much needed self belief in Ed’s men who are just beginning to gel. Exciting back end of the year to come for the Lions!🦁
