Moody sky and water surrounds the rotting pylons of this abandoned jetty, on the shores of Western Port Bay. The decking of the jetty is long gone. A long exposure of 160 seconds. A 2 shot Vertical Panorama. Focus Stacked.

The following 2 shots are an identical composition, but both have very different exposure times, the first shot is a 2 second exposure, and the second shot is a 40 second exposure, giving quite different outcomes.

“Got Them Jetty Blues.”

A series of shots, where the long exposure calms the sea and clouds at blue hour, while the abandoned jetty ruins are a glimpse back into the past.

My mate Greg and I, hiked in to the “hidden jetty” hoping to capture one of those amazing colourful sunrises, which just didn’t happen, except for a brief glimpse of colour on the horizon, however, “Blue Hour” was working beautifully, as seen in these shots.

The remains of the hidden San Remo Jetty, in the pre-dawn light.
Quite a few hours work went into this image. This is a blend of five, light painted shots, taken at different angles, highlighting the posts, and some of the water, I took the best bits from each image, and blended those bits back together, to produce this final image.

The Rye Pier disappears into the heavy sea fog, while some ethereal figures lean on the railing, taking it all in. This is a composite of two images, each with separate figures leaning on the railing, I have blended the extra figure in to this shot, to add more interest into the image.
