Hello Insta friends, I haven’t been on here for a while, as I’ve been tramping and photographing my way around New Zealand for 3 weeks. I thought I’d share my latest piece. It’s very different to my usual but I’m here for it. This backlit scene was shot at sunrise in full fog in the NSW Northern Rivers region . Once I’ve stitched the tree I’ll be covering the whole piece in silk organza…..I’ll then continue stitching. You’ll have to wait and see how that turns out. In my mind it will work well but let’s just see if it translates well to the fabric and stitching….🤞

I got a bit excited. 😜 just finished about 6 km of walking. The aim is to do about 10 km per day. I may stitch this scene.

Brolga Trio, Northern Rivers, NSW - A3 sized photographic embroidery. This one will join the others in my August Exhibition with and .gry at Stanmore. I especially loved stitching the fence. The timber posts are made from some driftwood found on the beach and the wire is actually 70% silk, 30% Stainless Steel, so quite suitable to represent wire!

This beautiful bird is just so delightful to stitch. I’m 10 hrs in on the main bird, it will be quite realistic once complete, the other two birds will have less dense stitching…. I’m looking forward to the grasses in the foreground and of course that fence! I’m heading back to Sydney tomorrow via 1 night in the Northern Rivers region again.
