The power of photography. I received an email today from the granddaughter of a man I photographed 15 years ago for Benetas Aged Care, as part of a Stories of Migration postcard project. Sadly, the man passed away this week but the family was reaching out to me to ask if I could provide them with a digital copy of the photo, as they only had a copy of the postcard, which was a bit dog eared after many years on the fridge. “As we search through photos, I can’t help but return to the photo that you took of him in 2006, as it captured our Nonno so perfectly and I would be so sad if it was lost forever…” Archives scoured, photo sent. A favorite photo of mine, even after all these years - moments like this make me realize why we do what we do. Sometimes we make a difference!

RIP, Mr Calvano you were a lovely man and it was a privilege to have met you. ❤️

Feels like forever since I’ve rolled out some new work! Shot prior to Lockdown #4, a little campaign/library project for the great people at … thank you to the portrait subjects for agreeing to have me in your homes, it was a real privilege. 🙏🏻
