Rubii Red, Melbourne (2026)

Rubii Red is a proud Lama Lama woman from Cape York, QLD, but has grown up and live in Narm (Melbourne, VIC) majority of her life. She’s an artist, Twitch streamer, aspiring videographer and an activist, who uses her art to speak about important issues to her and her community. She is big on representation within media, and wants to see more First Nations figures in these areas - especially in gam

ing and streaming, and film and television. She is a huge anime and comic book fan, a lot of her work is inspired by these areas as they’ve played a big part in her life from a young age. Rubii started her art journey by posting her work to Instagram back in 2015 and since then, her account has reached over 11.2k followers. Her work ranges from portraits, to abstract line work, to character design and even fan-art. Back in 2019 - 2020, Rubii also kickstarted her streaming career under the name (which has now been changed to ), where she streams herself playing video games and drawing live. She hopes to continue to do incredible and exciting things, within the world of the arts and gaming industry.

| ‘Guiding Lights (2026)’ - finished the drawing I started…yesterday (I think). Like my other previous drawing, I wanted to experiment with lighting. This process taught me that less is more and that I don’t have to add too many details.
Honestly, this is one of my favourite pieces so far. I still want to experiment with colour and try different colour palettes, but I always stick with colours I’m comfortable. Maybe that’ll be something I focus on with the next artwork.
Now, I’ve uploaded two new works - time for me to dip and not post for another few months 🤪

| decided to redraw one of my older works, this one was actually featured in VOGUE AUSTRALIA some time back. I wanted to challenge myself when it came to lighting as I’m not confident doing that and wanted to see how I go. I think I did okay, still something I need to study and practise, but we made progress! 😅🤷🏾‍♀️
Anyway; you’re probably wondering why there’s a damn tree frog on her back, well, the green tree frog is actually my family’s totem so I wanted to include it in my work. Deffs want to do a series of artworks based on people’s totems 🐸

I’m in a TMNT phase you Mob 😌

Here’s some sketches I did today of the boys. Are you guys fans of TMNT? If so do you have a favourite turtle?

Can anyone guess who my favourite is ? 👀

I’ve been a fan of TMNT since 2003, because I grew up on the 2003 animated series. I remember watching the show in the morning and occasionally watch the show here there online. I also love the 2007 movies and the live action (Bayverse) version, which I actually watched recently and it’s still such a fun watch for me. I gotta dive into the other versions though, especially 2012 because that version looks HILARIOUS 🤣
