Shinrabansho

Literally translates as "All nature", everything that exists in the universe.

A very bold statement piece. This print is derived from sumi ink painted on to an antique silver leaf screen.

Don't worry, I did not destroy a beautiful screen, I had two panels to use prior to painting the actual commissioned piece, a four panel screen.

It is an honour to paint onto these very old screens that have seen so much over perhaps a century or more.

Available printed on Hahnemuhle German etching fine art paper or archival quality metal panels on a floating hanger.

Metal art for bathrooms

One of the things I love about metal prints is they are to able to be placed in humid, wet environments.

That could be as art in an outdoor entertaining area, by the pool or as we see here, in a bathroom.

There is every reason for elevating the bathroom with art.

Waldeinsamkeit

Definition: Forest solitude; The feeling of being alone in the woods.

This lovely word seemed made for this print as a title.
I immediately was transported to a gorgeous forest in Europe, with it's fairytale lore and duality of magical and sinister reputations.

The brushed metal beautifully illustrating the feeling of time passing in a forest, with light and shadow moving with time, changing the way you feel being there.

Abendrot

In German, Abendrot directly translates to “evening red” and refers to the sunset.

Very apt for this print I think, I love it!

This print took many weeks to perfect and I love the result. It is textural, emotional; is sweet and intimate as a little print and is a statement piece in any room on fine art paper or metal at 50cm or 100cm.

The grittiness of the red pigment and cinnabar ink on brushed metal in particular is thrilling to me, but that’s me, what do you as the viewer think?
