I participated in a local creative magazine's casting call for photographers and models back in May. I can now share images from this shoot ... and there are a lot! So, bear with me as I share a few at a time. 😅

As my first solo portrait shoot, it was both nerve-wracking and fantastic. I'm really proud of myself for coming away with a heap of images that I can share with the world.

Sharna was great to work with, and a professional of the highest quality. If anyone is local to Newcastle/Maitland/Mid-North Coast and needs a model, I would not hesitate to recommend her.

This is Newcastle Beach and the Newcastle Ocean Baths viewed from the bottom of King Edward Park near the Bogey Hole.

I've been working on portraiture behind the scenes. I'll have a shoot to post in the near future. It's not of the horror variety, though. However, my love of all things Death Metal has definitely led me in the direction of today's image, and I hope to be creating more of it soon.

The last couple of posts showcased my new 70-200mm lens. Well, this was my very first afternoon shooting with it. Took a bit of getting used to. I captured this native Myna bird from my backyard sitting on a branch of the dead tree out the front of the house. The sky, the mood of the dead tree, etc., made for an interesting image, I thought.

As one does when you go out with zero intention of capturing anything in particular, you just wait and enjoy each moment. As it would happen, I recently bought a new lens, chucked it on the camera, waited patiently, and was able to capture this ship leaving the harbour as it loomed over the breakwall.

I quite like this one.
