Lady Amherst’s Pheasants are such incredible birds! The breeding plumage and display of the male is hard to believe it’s real.
They run rapidly around the female in a circle and then pause, and tilt their tail towards the usually unimpressed female. I felt so sorry for them as they tried so hard but the females always just calmly walked the other way! 😂
Oh and you can join me next year to photograph them for yourself on our Pheasants and Red Panda tour in April 2027!
Message me for more info 😃
📷🔥Processing can really change the feeling of an image. Do you prefer the less contrastry first shot which retains more detail throughout?
Or the strong high key look of the second image?

Seriously though, you really can. Check out website link in my bio. It really is the most incredible place with so many stunning species.

Yellow-tufted Honeyeater
Stoked to find these guys in the same spot I’d found them years ago while looking at locations for a portrait session 😂. Always love combining photographing birds at the same time as people ☺️
What do you think of the third shot from behind? Not the typical portrait but I like being able to see the tufts 😃

Couldn’t decide which one to post so decided on a few.

A few Pink Cockatoos from our recent tour.
Always love seeing these guys as do our guests!
Haven’t had time to cull or go through the trip properly yet so I may find some better shots.
Excited to be heading to Canberra tomorrow for the conference. Should be fun!

Quite possibly the most incredible thing I’ve filmed with my drone.
Driving between Lake Cargelligo and Condobolin on a 45 degree Celsius day and noticed a bit of a W***y W***y in a paddock on the side of the road so decided to put the drone up. It has been super dry out there and the whole week was 44+ every day with the wind starting to pick up.
I kept following it and it kept getting more and more intense… and there were two! They literally ended up looking like tornadoes/twisters which I’m definitely not used to here in Australia.
Then of course the drone needed to return home with low battery but it didn’t factor the headwind into the equation so it ran out of battery fortunately only a couple of hundred metres from the car 😩😂

Andean Condor!
This was such a huge thrill on our Patagonia tour.
Just seeing a condor in the distance was a dream, but to be standing on a clifftop as they slowly glide past above and below us was truly magical.
Such huge majestic birds!
It was also extremely windy of course, because , well, Patagonia 😂
Captured at with .life

Austral Rail!
Huge thrill in Patagonia was seeing this elusive rail while waiting for news from the puma trackers.
Honestly if I hadn’t had pre-capture on the camera I probably wouldn’t have captured this image. I was prefocused on a gap in the reeds where we’d heard a pair and hoped for the best. This guy appeared and stayed still for at least a nanosecond I reckon 😂
This species was unreported between 1958 and 1998 and thought to have been extinct.
Habitat is pretty standard rail fare of reedy marshes and dense vegetation.
Big thanks to and !

Swipe to see what I make my guest do to ensure they get great photos! 😜🤣
An incredibly memorable day, especially as it wasn’t even windy! 😳

I personally prefer the B&W version but let me know if you prefer the colour?
