Framing the stars!
For a few months, the rising Milky Way aligns perfectly with the rock columns at Bombo, creating the iconic frame. Another one from the visit a few weeks back

I travelled hours to get this composition. Thanks to PhotoPills I was able to plan this in advance. What I could not plan for was the wind, that made the windmills go nuts 😁 this was also the first time using my full spectrum Nikon Australia Z6ii, with a 50mm/1.8 lens and the astronomik 12nm Ha clip-in filter for fast lenses.
Captured a lot of data but still left unsatisfied. Will be back!

Going to Bombo Headland feels like stepping on an alien planet. The neatly shaped basalt columns and the rugged terrain could easily be another world. Add to that the angry ocean that keeps smashing into the rocks and you get one of the most iconic setups for astrophotography.

I went there last weekend to capture the rising milky way which perfectly aligns with the rock columns during this time of the year. This is a single shot, captured with my Z5ii and a 28mm/f2 voigtlander lens.
