10 years ago, I stepped away from music and picked up a camera.

I didn’t have much of a plan - just a one-way ticket to India and a sense that I needed to try something different.

That decision changed the course of my life.

I’ll be revisiting that first body of work this month with a fundraising print sale of the images I took on that trip. Make sure you’re following so you don’t miss out!

Thanks and for the 📸

From the outset, I was incredibly excited to help bring this campaign for to life. Projects centered on people and lived experience sit at the heart of my practice, and this story offered an opportunity to create something honest, warm, and human.

Central to the campaign was our hero, Wilson. Drawing on my experience working closely with individuals in sensitive and personal storytelling environments, I felt it was essential to build a genuine relationship with him well before the camera was introduced. Spending time together over Zoom allowed us to move beyond the surface and understand who Wilson is; his humour, his resilience, and the everyday passions that shape his life.

These conversations revealed the moments that would give the campaign authenticity: his love of rugby, wheelchair basketball, time with his dog Rere, and the journey that brought him to where he is today.

Establishing trust in this way ensured that when filming and photography began, the process felt relaxed and true to Wilson’s voice.

We worked across multiple locations to reflect the community around him. Familiar spaces in Wilson’s routine, as well as recognisable ones in the Dubbo community to showcase Regency’s involvement.

Wilson’s story is one of resilience, positivity, and laughter. Watch his video via my reels/profile
