I went to the Pride Fest parade last night. The atmosphere was fantastic! This was the first time I'd ever been. What impressed me most was that everyone there was so happy. I'm so glad I went, despite being so tired from fixing the reticulation, mowing the lawns, and all. Can't wait for next year's Pride Parade!

Misty lake in Pemberton.
This image was shot with the Hasselblad CFV-50C medium format digital back. I was also shooting with the Canon 5DSR. They both have 50 megapixel sensors, but the Hasselblad has very low digital noise and amazing dynamic range. Not surprising I suppose, because the sensor is so much bigger. The Canon does allow you to work a lot faster.

Spring in Pemberton is beautiful. Crisp, cold, misty. It wasn't much more than zero degrees. There was no one around at 6 am. Even the ducks slept in.

I really like this one of Kata Tjuta, but it scored 78. 3 Silver Awards out of my 4 entries - I can't be unhappy about that.

This image scored 81 (Silver Award). That makes 3, so I'm pretty happy.

This image scored 81 (Silver Award) in the Landscape category in the APPA 2016. Of my four images, this was the one that I had the least confidence in. But it was awarded a Silver and I'll take it. :)

This image just scored 82 (Silver Award) in the Landscape category of the Australian Professional Photography Awards 2016. I'm very chuffed. What do you think it is?

The paddlers are the heroes of the Avon Descent though, going by the looks on their faces there is no doubt it is a tough couple of days for them.

Some images of the power dinghies in today's Avon Descent at Toodyay Rapids. The water level in this part of the Avon River was pretty good thanks to recent rains. I think in previous years without descent winter rains the participants would have had to pick their dinghies up and walk across the rocks.

Farm Aerials Part 2. I wanted to get up into the air to shoot the canola crop in our Great Southern. The canola flowers are out around late August to mid-September, but it gets tricky at this time of year shooting aerials because the weather is so changeable and aiming for a nice warm and sunny day is so difficult. And of course, not every farmer's canola crop is flowering at peak at the same time.
So here we have some canola and some sheep in a paddock.
