Walking through Melbourne's vibrant streets, it's impossible to ignore the bold and beautiful street art that speaks volumes about our society. In this city of creativity, street art is more than just a visual treat—it's a powerful platform for activism and expression.
It’s safe to say on my trip, I was struck by pieces highlighting women’s rights—showcasing resilience, empowerment, and the fight for equality. These murals remind us of the progress we’ve made and the battles still to be won.
But these messages are more urgent than ever. Since 1 January 2024, 116 women have been killed in Australia—an unimaginable and heartbreaking statistic. Campaigns like She Matters are using art to honor these women and to demand systemic change. These murals are not just art—they're a call to action, a demand for justice, and a powerful reminder that every woman’s life matters❤️
