Last night was the perfect reminder of how lucky I am to have incredible dark skies so close to home. With a bright Moon lighting the landscape and crystal-clear skies overhead, it was a fantastic opportunity to get out and practise a little astrophotography.

Sometimes I forget just how fortunate I am to live so far north, where these beautiful night skies are right on my doorstep. Even after all these years, looking up never gets old.

Photos from a dive with Adele Danvers back in June, around my birthday weekend. I remember Adele being an absolute ninja, climbing down the groyne while I made my way in from the beach. It was freezing, and of course, I had forgotten my hood! 🥶

Despite the cold, it was an amazing dive. We found at least 16 seahorses, which made the chilly conditions completely worth it. 🐴🌊

I then had to rush off to a photoshoot straight after the dive, so it was definitely a busy birthday day weekend! 📸🤿

Some dives stick with you for the little moments, the unexpected finds and the people you share them with. 💙

The difference a few hours can make. When we arrived in Carnarvon to begin photographing, thick clouds rolled in and we thought they would stay for the entire night. Luckily, around 9 pm, the clouds cleared, revealing a spectacular sky filled with stars. Sometimes, all it takes is a little patience to witness something truly incredible.

During our astrophotography workshop in Carnarvon, we photographed the Milky Way arching above the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum—a location that played a significant role in Australia’s contribution to space exploration.

Originally established as the Carnarvon Tracking Station, the site became a vital part of NASA’s global tracking network during the Apollo missions. It was here that engineers helped monitor spacecraft and relay communications as humanity took its first steps on the Moon. Standing beneath the same stars that inspired those missions, it was incredible to capture the Milky Way above a place that helped make space history.

The perfect stopover on my way to Carnarvon 🌿✨

A visit to Nature's Window in Kalbarri National Park was well worth the detour. This incredible natural rock arch frames the rugged Murchison River Gorge, creating one of Western Australia's most iconic views. The short walk to the lookout is rewarded with breathtaking scenery that's even more impressive in person.

Yesterday, I took advantage of the clear skies and a moonless night to photograph both some new locations and a few old favourites around the York–Northam region. It was incredible to see the canola fields in full bloom, and thankfully the wind and cold weather stayed away, making for perfect conditions under the stars.
