Skett13 Photography A look at the world through the lens of photographer Jason "Skett13" Asplin Enjoy

Skett13

Hi I'm Jason, also known to almost all as Skett and this right here is my photographic journal of the mad and often awesome world around me. The Chronicles of Madness concept started out as just a random collection of photos back in the old 00's Myspace days and carried on over time in a few forms up until now. Back in those days and up till now I've sucked at photography... Blurred to buggery, ov

er exposed, underexposed, you name the flaws I've done it and you get the point... So this year (2013) I've decided to actually learn a thing or two in order to take better photos and this is my journal.

"The Crabber's Aurora"

The torchlight of crab fishermen scattered all along the horizon. Wading the shallows in teams, searching for blue manna crabs as the Aurora Australis kicked off in the night skies above them.

Hi all it's been a while. Decided it was time to finally pick up the camera again and take it on my morning walks. I came across this beautiful chonky Western Australian Tiger Snake this morning, sunning itself on a log by the path. As you can see from its flared hood in the first pic, it was well aware of our presence. So we slowly backed up and kept our distance and waited for it to move off before continuing on our merry way.

p.s zoom in on the 3rd pic at the bend in the tail!

I took my camera and the doggo for a walk down the lake & I spied this little Quenda Bandicoot foraging for food this evening! After nearly 4 years of trying since I moved here, I have FINALLY captured a shot of one!

It has occurred to me that I haven't posted anything on this page for quite some time. I've been stuck at home quite a bit of late. I tore my hamstring putting the rubbish out. A funny story about being spooked by a large Australian Hornet which had decided to build its nest by the switch for the garage door that I was about to press. Not long after recovering from that particular injury followed a quick hospital visit for a torn muscle in my back which was initially mistaken for a kidney stone from which I'm still recovering. A couple of days ago my laptop sent me a warning message that my hard drive was down to its last gigabyte of storage so I have been going through old photo deleting anything and everything not worthy of printing and whilst sorting through 300 shots from one outing in November 2019 I came across this previously unshared photograph of a wondering turtle
