For years i thought that there was a specific way that i had to walk through this life. Society told me that i had to go to school, get an education and decide what i wanted to do for a career, then go to university to further educate myself in this career choice or get an apprenticeship, then get a job in that chosen career path where i would be trapped despite my happiness and sanity until I'm

old and grey. I fell victim to the boundaries society restricted me to for years and i found as the years went on i gradually felt very unsatisfied with what life had to offer. What i realised through good and even more so bad life experiences is that i don't need to walk through life following the social normalities of life, i can actually create a different journey and live a life i have always wanted... so thats what i started doing

Back what feels like a life time ago when I was a grease monkey slinging spanners for a living j*p crap đŸ‡ŻđŸ‡”đŸš˜ cars where the centre of my universe, I was always cruising around in a skyline or a Silvia and put all my creativity into building some fun cars to drive around in.

When I left that life I also let go a little of the love i have for Japanese imports and drifting
. I didn’t feel like they had a place since I was hell bent on making something of myself with a camera

Now all these years later it feels good every now and then getting out and shooting the cars I love so much.

Last weekend headed to collie with my buddy ole pal to watch cars slide around and test out the new C50 with the 70-200mm and I gotta say it’s a mean combo to get some nice and crispy drift footage all while being a fairly light weight package to move around a track with

People talk about burnout like it’s overwhelming stress or constant exhaustion.

But for me, it felt different.

It wasn’t breaking down.

It was opening my laptop and feeling
 nothing.

The ideas stopped flowing.
The excitement disappeared.
The projects I once couldn’t wait to work on started feeling like items on a checklist.

That’s the scary part.

Not the exhaustion.
The disconnection.

When your passion becomes your profession, it’s easy to spend so much time creating for everyone else that you slowly lose touch with why you started creating in the first place.

Burnout doesn’t always scream.

Sometimes it whispers.

It shows up as procrastination, frustration, lack of motivation, or that feeling of being emotionally checked out from the thing you used to love.

I’ve been learning that recovery isn’t about pushing harder.

It’s about slowing down long enough to reconnect with yourself, your creativity, and the reasons you started this journey in the first place.

If you’ve been feeling numb lately, maybe you don’t need more discipline.

Maybe you need space.

I miss the streets of London.

The noise.
The chaos.
The cold air hitting your face at midnight while the city still feels wide awake.

There was something about getting lost there with a camera in my hand that made everything feel clearer. Every alley, every train ride, every stranger passing by felt peaceful.

Perth will always be home

but part of me still wanders those London streets.

Most people never fail publicly
 because they never post publicly.

The uncomfortable truth?
The people you look at now and think “they’ve made it” probably have years of awkward videos, bad edits, weird captions, shaky confidence, and posts that got 14 likes buried somewhere deep in their feed.

Cringe is part of the process.
It’s the price of entry.

You don’t become confident first and then start creating.
You start creating
 then confidence catches up later.

Every creator you admire was once talking to a camera in a room that felt way too quiet wondering if they looked stupid.

The people laughing usually aren’t building anything anyway. 👀
