Sometimes the bigger story is better told from above.

A drone flyover helps show the scale of a site, how work areas connect, where access and staging are changing, and how much progress has actually happened across the project.

Used alongside ground photography, time-lapse and video, aerial capture gives project teams a clearer record of progress, context and change.

The final time-lapse video might be the most visible part of a construction monitoring system, but it's rarely where the greatest value comes from.

The real benefit comes from having reliable visibility throughout construction - helping project teams track progress, support stakeholder reporting, maintain a visual record of key milestones and access site information without always being on site.

A well-planned monitoring system provides ongoing documentation and context, making it easier to review changes, verify progress and reference important project activities months later.

The final time-lapse is the outcome. The real value comes from the visibility, documentation and project insights gained along the way.

Aussie site visits don’t get much better than this! 🦘
Our installer Luke was out in Collie WA completing a camera relocation when a few of the local emus decided to drop by and check on the progress.

Camera relocation complete, wildlife supervision approved.

📷 Some of the most useful construction photos are not the glossy final shots.
They are the progress images captured while the work is still unfolding: the site context, the milestone, the access condition, the visible change that helps people understand what is happening.
For builders, developers and project teams, good progress photography can support monthly reports, stakeholder updates and future project records without relying on rushed phone photos or long written explanations.
The full article looks at how to brief construction progress photography so the final images are clear, useful and ready to reuse.

🎥 Two cameras. One massive build. Every moment captured.
We deployed dual timelapse cameras across the latest Q Design & Construct project in Hazelmere, WA, and it's easy to see why. With a total site area of 35,550m² including a 7,500m² warehouse, a specialist workshop, wash bay and sandblast facilities, plus a stunning two-storey architecturally designed main office, no single camera could do it justice.
That's the power of multi-camera timelapse monitoring. When a project is this large, multiple cameras mean:
▪️Full site coverage: No blind spots across structures and zones.
▪️Multiple perspectives: Capture the build from different angles.
▪️Stronger oversight: Monitor progress and activity in real time.
▪️Better timelapse: Richer footage that shows the project scale.
From ground prep to the striking Corten façade finish, we didn't miss a moment of this incredible project by Q Design + Construct for client Hesperia & Tenant Weir Minerals. Targeting a GBCA 5-star rating on completion.

Big projects deserve big coverage.

Construction time-lapse is not just about the finished video. A well-managed setup can help teams check progress remotely, pull milestone images for reporting, and keep stakeholders updated without adding extra site visits.

We’ve put together a practical guide covering capture frequency, portal access and deliverables so project teams can better understand what makes a monitoring setup genuinely useful.

We’re proud to partner with Housing All Australians and Uniting WA in celebrating the opening of Wyn Carr House, a supported transitional accommodation for older women experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

When we were approached to join the project and supply low bono services, it was an easy yes. Contributing to this project was an extremely rewarding experience.
Our timelapse cameras were proud to capture the incredible refurbishment of this important project, showcasing the transformation and progress along the way.

The private sector has an important role to play in Australia's housing crisis, and we're proud to play our part in the solution. Wyn Carr House reflects the impact that can be achieved when we all work together with a shared purpose, public and private sectors alike. It was an honour to join forces with other value-aligned private sector organisations and make such a tangible impact on our community.

Because we believe in do you?

Deep underground at the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant project, two tunnel boring machines are underground carving critical infrastructure that will help secure Perth’s long-term water supply.

To document this challenging work, Sitevisuals provided an advanced timelapse camera solution directly mounted to the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operating in high temperatures, with no wireless connectivity, intermittent power and extreme vibration. With rugged equipment and deep local storage image recording, Sitevisuals captured the tunnel boring as it happened, frame by frame, metre by metre.

If you’re planning on capturing progress in challenging environments, let’s talk about the practical solutions that work. This is amazing work rarely visible unless you are there!
