The Origin of the Name: Bartlem Oval in Depot Hill is named after Alexander Bartlem, a former long-serving employee of the Rockhampton City Council. Notably, in 1978, at the age of 90, Alexander gained local recognition for lighting the ceremonial funeral pyre of the city's last night-soil cart.(Dunny cart) The park's name originates from this notable event.

A query was raised by top fan Cliff Arnold concerning the North Rockhampton to emu Park line, focusing on the method used for turning trains around at the North Rockhampton station before the line was connected to the central Railway line and Alexandra Bridge was built in 1899 The question pertained to whether an offshoot line or turntable was employed.

So out I went exploring and low and behold I found it and it's led to the discovery of the turntable at the North Rockhampton station site, uncovering historical remnants of a turntable.

Here we have Photos of the remaining Emu Park Railway line history, including the turntable North Rockhampton, have been documented. Cliff Arnold
