To the mum who thinks it's not worth it...

It's your second or third baby, so you've convinced yourself you don't need maternity photos this time.

But what about you?

The mum who's packing lunchboxes, wiping bums ;), hearing "Mum!" a hundred times a day and growing a whole new little person at the same time.

When was the last time you stopped long enough to think about what your body is doing?

To slow down.

To enjoy the last week with the little love who is going to become a baby brother or sister.

To do something that's just for you.

Because one day you'll show your baby this photo and tell them what it felt like when they kicked every night. How you wondered who they would be. How excited you were to finally meet them.

And you'll realise these photos are not just about the bump, they're about celebrating the woman who's carrying it all.

When it's your last baby and all you can think is...

'I wish I could remember every tiny detail of this moment with you.'

You've already been there - you've navigated learning how to look after your first baby, then learnt how to juggle a toddler and a newborn...

By the time the third arrives, it feels like they just slot in.

And you already know how quickly it's going to go.

And despite making sure you soak it all in, it's gone in a heartbeat. Your little one now grown and you witnessed the whole thing...

And yet, at the same time, it feels like you missed it.

Fresh 48 sessions are a beautiful way to capture your little love at the smallest they'll ever be.

To remember the first time their siblings met their little wonder.

To hold onto all the love you have for them, the moments of motherhood you'll want to return to again and again.

And the very beginning of your family as you now know it.

This is your chance to make the memories of them last.

Reach out if you'd love a fresh 48 session for your family.

Are you 28-35 weeks pregnant and wanting to remember the beginning of your motherhood journey?

I'm looking for a mumma who would love to have this time preserved with beautiful portraits at my Alton Downs studio.

You don't need to know how to pose. I'll guide the session, so you'll feel confident and relaxed.

If you're wanting to remember the feeling of your little one tucked inside, giving you a kick in the ribs every now and then.

Celebrate the joy, the changes and the days before your household gets even more hectic.

And take a moment to really slow down and enjoy this time with your baby, then please get in touch.

As a thank you for your time, you'll be gifted a full gallery of digital portraits.

Please pass this onto any of your mumma friends who would love this gift.

You don't feel like yourself anymore.

Your body's changing every day.

Your ankles are swollen. None of your clothes fit quite right. And the thought of standing in front of a camera sounds like the last thing you want to do.

But...

You still want to remember this time.

You want to remember the afternoons spent on the couch after work, watching their little feet pressing against your belly, as if they're dying to start running.

That moment you hang all the tiny outfits on the clothesline and can't help but stare at them in wonder... Will they really be that small?

How everything suddenly feels exciting, and somehow every conversation comes back to the little person you're about to meet.

It's the beginning.

The beginning of becoming a mum.

Their mum.

The little darling you haven't met yet, but already feel so deeply connected to.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I didn't even want my mum to take a photo of me.

I didn't feel like I looked good. I didn't feel like myself. (Mostly because my ankles were swollen half the time and I felt so stiff.)

But now I look back at those photos she snapped on her phone, and I'm so grateful she did.

Because despite all the insecurities I felt at the time, all I see now is...
the excitement.
The anticipation.
The love for a little girl I hadn't even met yet.

That's why I believe so strongly in documenting pregnancy.

And you don't have to know how to pose or worry about feeling awkward. That's what I'm here for.

I'll guide you every step of the way so you can simply be present while we create photographs that feel like you.

Whether that's curled up on the couch at home, wandering through your favourite outdoor spot together, or in the studio before you return with your beautiful new baby for your newborn session.

We'll tell your story in a way that feels real, relaxed and completely yours.

If you're expecting a baby and you've been putting off maternity photos because you don't feel confident, I'd love to show you that you don't have to feel like a model to have photographs you'll treasure forever.

You just have to show up.
I'll take care of the rest. 🤍

While you're worrying about whether your toddler is behaving...

I'm looking for something completely different.

So many parents have told me, "I was so worried you wouldn't get any good photos because the kids were wild."

But family sessions with little ones are meant to be a little chaotic.

But hidden amongst all that beautiful mayhem are tiny moments that last only a second.

A cuddle after the tears.
A burst of laughter when Dad throws them into the air.
The way they tangle your hair around their finger when they snuggle in.

Those moments can't be posed.

They happen because your children feel safe with you and above all else, loved. It's a time of real connection with them.

So while you might think the session has been completely derailed because your toddler has had a meltdown over a rock in their shoe (a very valid reason, by the way 😉), I'm waiting.

Waiting for that tiny moment of connection.
Because that's all I need.

And more often than not, they're the photographs that end up meaning the most.

You can’t remember if you had breakfast this morning.

And your coffee was cold by the time you finally got to it.

But at 4am, your little one woke, so you popped her into bed beside you.

She snuggled in like a little koala, and for a moment it felt like nothing else in the world mattered.

You just wish you could hold onto this age a little longer.
The chunky thighs.
The cheeky grin.
The toddler laugh that makes you laugh too.

The joys of your motherhood that no one else sees, but you feel so deeply.
That's exactly what this session was about.

We started in the warmth of the studio, then wandered out into the mango orchard that surrounds it, capturing all the cuddles, giggles and beautiful chaos that make this season yours.

If you'd love photographs that feel like your family, but don't want the pressure of getting your home ready, the studio is the perfect place. You still get all the connection, warmth and play—without the to-do list.

Winter sessions are now open.

If you'd love to bottle up this season before it changes again, head to the link in my bio to book your session or ask any questions. I'd love to hear from you.

Your home feels like chaos and you just know, your kid will be the one to bump their head right before the photographer arrives.

If your kids are ‘wild’, there are more balls on your roof than in the yard, and you have fingerprints all over the back door…

Then you’re my kind of people.

Family photos aren’t meant to be boring or stationary.

If I can reach the end of your session and your kids are asking if they can do it again, then I know I’ve nailed it.

Because when your kids are having a great time, you are too.

And not only will you walk away with portraits to remember it by, you will have created core memories for your kids that they’ll remember for a lifetime.

If you’d love to update your family photos this winter, click the link in my bio to chat about what family fun I can capture for you.

One of the questions I'm asked most often is:

"Which session should I book?"

The answer is always the same.
The one that feels most like you.

Some families love the idea of documenting those first hours in hospital, soaking up every tiny detail while everything still feels brand new.

Others want baby's first home captured - the nursery, the couch where you always feed, the place where all the things you love are.

And some also love the simplicity of coming into the studio, where everything is ready to go and all you need to do is show up and cuddle your baby.

And some choose more than one because every part of the journey feels worth remembering.

There isn't a right or wrong choice.

The most important thing is choosing a session that feels comfortable, relaxed and true to your family.

If you're expecting a little one and wondering which experience might be the best fit, send me a message. I'd love to help you decide. 🤎

You’d think as a professional newborn photographer, I would have documented my babies beautifully.

I didn’t.

Not because I didn’t want to but because I thought I’d worry about it when the baby was born.

But by then, I was stressed from moving house and my postpartum anxiety was high.

Even the thought of putting her in the car to drive somewhere freaked me out.

Ten years later, and as I went to put this post together, I searched for a photo of her and I in those early days. I found two.

That’s it.

This one and another selfie looking up my nose.

It breaks my heart.

I don’t want another parent to feel this way. That’s why I encourage families to book early, so you can enjoy a complimentary maternity session and have the details of your newborn session planned ahead of time.

One of the things I notice most during family sessions is that parents often arrive focused on getting that one good photo where everyone is looking at the camera.

And yes, we'll absolutely get that photo.

But the portraits families end up choosing for their walls are rarely the perfectly posed ones.

They're the photos where their cheeky little girl is mid-laugh.
The one where their little one is wrapped around mum's neck.
The one that captures what their life really felt like in the moment.

As a mum, it's those little things I miss the most.
Those are the memories I want to keep.

Tell me — what's something your kids do right now that you'd never want to forget?
