If I could give mums one message, it would be this: don't just make the memories. Be in them with your babies.
The strength it takes to care for little ones - to have them resting on your hip for sometimes hours in a day. To remain the calm in the storm of their emotions.
To provide safety, love and connection, even when you're trying to remember the last time you ate.
And yet, for all that strength, we carry so much doubt.
Worried we're doing it wrong, worried our bodies aren't 'good enough', uncomfortable in the changes we see.
And so we hide away. Not wanting to be in the photos.
I have been there, and I hear it every day from other mums. But I want to grab you by the shoulders, look you in the eyes and say 'please, please exist here.'
Not just for your babies (because I know how much they'll love seeing you growing them, holding them, loving on them) but for you too.
Because I promise, just a few short years down the track, when you're longing for the feel of that little body against yours, you'll look back at yourself and think 'what was I thinking... I was gorgeous'.
Nothing changed. Just your perception.
So even if you're uncomfortable in your body right now, be in the photo anyway.
Because your babies will want to remember this…you right here, holding them and loving them.
And funnily enough, these will be the photos you cherish the most too.
