Before the collection opens to the public, I wanted to share the words behind the work & offer a glimpse into the heart of Dying to Live.

After months of planning, creating, compositing, editing, overthinking, second-guessing, fighting with Photoshop & nearly losing my mind over every tiny detail, it’s exciting to finally begin sharing the finished collection. 😂🔥

In case you’ve been wondering what this collection is really about, the artist statement brings together the message behind the work, the inspiration & the visual story told through the six final images.

Eeeek! Only ONE WEEK to go until my very first exhibition opens to the public! 😍

Dying to Live marks the beginning of CJ Creative Originals & a new space for my fine art, conceptual & creative work.

Be sure to get on down to M&B Café & Smoothie Bar between 5th–21st September, grab yourself a tasty beverage or delicious meal from their menu & check it out! ☕️

You’ll also have the chance to leave your feedback at the exhibition. I’d love to hear which piece speaks to you most & what you take away from the collection. 🖤

DYING TO LIVE EXHIBITION 🖤🦋

Wondering why things have been a little quiet around here lately...well, this answers the question! 😂

Thanks to the amazing Mandy & the team at M&B Café & Smoothie Bar for displaying my work, the official dates for my very first fine art photography exhibition are finally here!!

Get on down between the 5th–21st of September to check it out & grab an amazing beverage or something yummy from the M&B menu while you're there. ☕️

This collection packs quite the emotional & psychological punch 👊, & I can't wait to finally share what's been months in the making!! 🥰

And to those who received private invitations to the opening, please RSVP by Thursday 27th August. Yes, your invitation says Wednesday. No, Wednesday is not the 27th. Apparently I can organise an entire exhibition but cannot read a calendar. 😂😂🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

BTS ✨

A quick look behind the curtain… a tiny glimpse into the early stages of creating my latest exhibition image.

Social media often shows us the final moment & the polished image, the perfect frame, the finished result, but rarely the journey behind it.

A reminder that not everything is as it first appears. Every image has a process, every detail has a purpose, & sometimes what looks effortless has a whole lot happening beneath the surface. ✨

I cannot wait to show the final result of this image! It is truly magical!! ✨✨

DIVINE LOVE 🪽✨

It's surprisingly difficult to step into your Divine self while trying to look feminine, balance a pair of giant angel wings, & try not to accidentally choke yourself out with a sage stick....but here we are 🤣✨
All for the art, I guess 🤷🤣

As I am editing my very last image for the exhibition, I've realised one thing very quickly.....Behind every carefully crafted fine art image I've created there has been a little bit of chaos behind the scenes.
And honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way 😂

WELCOME TO CHURCH ✝⛪

Friday had me heading to church to photograph the stunning stained-glass window that will feature in my final exhibition piece. 😁

As soon as I stepped inside, I was reminded of how powerful light can be in shaping a photograph. The colours, the atmosphere, & the way the light filtered through the glass made it the perfect setting for the image I have been envisioning.😍😍

This piece has been one of the most challenging & meaningful works in the collection, so finding the right location was incredibly important. I'm excited to see it all come together & can't wait to share the finished image with you all.

A heartfelt thank you to Reverend Gannon & Josiah from Christ Church in Longford for allowing me into their space to capture the magical beauty of this window & the holy presence of this historical church 🪟⛪

When the backdrop truly looked like nothing in person and you discovered your photographer shoots in pink slippers... seeing the BTS really makes you think, "Wow, how does she actually pull this together?" 😂✨

Proof that photography is a little bit magic and a little bit of madness. 😉

From the feathers I glued onto those wings to the nails I painted on those devil gloves, every single detail was intentional in this image. 🔥

Absolute credit to my favourite artist of all time, Brooke Shaden, whose self-portrait work continues to inspire me. Being the assistant, model, lighting assistant, creative director, prop maker, photographer, & editor for this session had me ready to fire my own ass! 😂

The final image will be unveiled as part of my Dying to Live exhibition... & beneath all the feathers, wings, and chaos lies a story that hits hard. 🖤✨

COMING SOON ✨

For the past few months, I've been immersed in creating, refining, & curating work for my very first photography exhibition. Countless hours behind the camera, in front of the screen, & deep in the creative process have all led to this moment.

As I finalise the last two images, it's beginning to feel real. The excitement is growing, but so are the nerves. Sharing personal work in a public space feels both incredibly rewarding & wonderfully terrifying. 😬

Belive me when I say keeping these images under wraps while bringing the collection together has taken far more self-control than I ever expected! 🤣

I'm looking forward to finally being able to share them all!

FROM THE BEGINNING ✨

Where it all started...

From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to the weird, the unusual, & the interesting people & things in life.

In my teenage years, I became a massive fan of horror movies — the suspense, the dramatic lighting, the characters, the spooky details — which eventually turned into a love for special FX makeup & creative visuals. While most people around me at the time weren’t horror fans, I always had that inquisitive mindset of, “Wow… how did they do that?”

My very first creative piece was with a model who knew an incredibly talented 15-year-old experimenting with special FX makeup at the time. Together, we created Little Dead Riding Hood [pictured below], photographed at Hollybank.
That shoot was the beginning of everything...

From there, I started planning & mood-boarding creative sessions like crazy, using Halloween as the perfect excuse to let my freak flag fly. 😀

Every year my concepts grew bigger, bolder, and more experimental. I started teaching myself special FX makeup through YouTube tutorials, and I’m hoping to eventually complete a professional course so I can expand my skills further into prosthetics as well.

One of the things I love most is working with ordinary, everyday people. It honestly feels like such an honour that whenever I put out a call for models or volunteers for one of my weird creative projects, people jump in without hesitation (even when they have absolutely no idea what they’re signing up for )🤣

With my very first exhibition coming up, I’m incredibly excited to share not only my images with the world, but also the visual punch they pack when it comes to communicating powerful messages to viewers.
This is the first of many exhibitions for me, so to say I’m nervous would be a massive understatement.

Creating CJ Creative Originals last year was a safe place to explore, express, & share my artistic side with the world, no longer needing Halloween as an excuse to do so. I created CJCO not only to showcase my work, but to find my tribe… my weird people. A space to collaborate with other creatives, no matter how small the community may be, & to encourage others to share their creativity too because honestly… who the hell wants to be mediocre anyway? 😉

I’m so excited to share with you all what’s still to come.
