Have you looked at the wings of a Kookaburra when they're open? And their tale? Got these two shots today on my property. So blessed to have these gorgeous birds sharing our land with us.

Love our beautiful Kookaburas here at home. There are 5 of them, but sometimes we only see 2 or 3. This one was sitting in our willow tree, watching the ground near where I stood. How could I not take a photo? Taken with Nikon P950.

Anywhere is a suitable perch for a Kookaburra. My husband is an Amateur Radio operator and so has antenna wires around our property. Seems the Laughing Kookaburra figures it's a good place to perch and observe.

This is what happens when you have a fishpond in your garden. We thought we'd given our fish enough protection but clearly not. Nothing I could do when I saw this scene, other than take a photo!

We have around 5 Laughing Kookaburras that live on our property here in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, and they are wonderful to both see and hear. Such gorgeous birds and I never tire of waking up to their laughing sounds in the mornings.

Please don't be taken in by this rubbish. We don't get pink kookaburras and the person who owns the page listed below is based in the US, not in Australia. They show a few real images shared from others, but their content is AI which is really sad as so many believe them.

A quiet little cuddle high in the gum trees of the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. 🤍🩷
Some moments in nature are so gentle they barely make a sound. Watching these two tiny kookas tucked in together as the morning sun filtered through the forest was one of those moments I'll never forget. 🪶✨

Kooka in our garden today. There is actually a possum nest just left of the branch where the bird is, but they seem unperturbed. The kookaburra was more interested in the worms it could find in the lawn below.

I could hear a whole lot of carry on in a tree at one corner of our property. I got there in time to see a couple of kookaburras take off but the remainder stayed - for a short while at least. Not often I see 7 kookaburras in the one tree. Boy, it was a loud commotion. So then there were 5, then 4...

I wonder. Are all Kookaburras pigeon-toed, or just this one? Can't say I've noticed before but will now have to keep an eye out.

This one was sitting on a brick wall in our garden, or perhaps I should say standing? What do you think - have you ever noticed they're pigeon-toed?

Kookaburra found a mandarin on the ground on the neighbour's property and thought it might be something good to smash around. It was partially eaten already, by something. These birds are always entertaining to watch and the best part is I don't have to leave home to see them.
