There’s nothing quite like the way a mum holds her kids in front of the camera. Not posed, not perfect, just close. The little hands gripping shirts, the giggles between shots, the way she pulls them in without even thinking about it.

These sessions are always my favourite. It’s not about getting everyone looking at the camera and smiling, it’s about capturing what it actually feels like to be a mother, in that moment.

The kind of afternoon you don’t plan for, it just happens. Lambs getting bottle fed, a dog who thinks he’s part of the family (he is), and kids running around in their gumboots until the sun went down.

This is the stuff I want on the walls, not the stiff posed stuff. Just everyone existing together in a place they love.
