I captured this precious Chestnut Teal duckling falling asleep in the rain surrounded by the comfort of its family.

It was due to rain according to the weather forecast and I was keen to spend time in the wetlands while it was raining as I knew the surrounding area would be peaceful and quieter than usual to film. As soon as I arrived, a family of Chestnut Teal ducks (a male, female and 2 ducklings) took notice of me. I stayed stationary long enough that I became part of the landscape and they were accepting of me. When it came to rest, the family settled by the bank in front of me and fell asleep in the rain.

I held my umbrella up for 3 hours to film over this period (wouldn't recommend it!) until my hands were cold, immobile and clumsy! It was nice to be both in the moment and to walk away with video I can share. This clip is part of a broader video I'm editing from this outing.
