Attan (Ah-tonne) is the Afghan Haka.

The Attan began as a folk dance conducted by Pashtuns in times of war or during weddings or other celebrations (engagements, new year, and informal gatherings). It is now considered the national dance of Afghanistan.

Participants of the Attan spin in circular motions of their own and the dance starts with slow steps that gradually get faster and faster until it seems the performers must drop from exhaustion. However, the dance continues, sometimes for two or three hours at a stretch, with no breaks except a lowering of tempo or changes in the tunes and songs.

The second ACSA soccer tournament was bigger and better with more teams and more excitement this year as 16 teams battled it out throughout the day to try and gain first place.

The team that won the cup this year was Azadi X...congratulations boys on a 1-0 victory over Azadi Y in a breathtaking final.

To all the other teams...you're all winners at the end of the day for uniting together, giving it your all and displaying some amazing talent on the pitch.

The whole purpose of this tournament is to bring the Afghan youth together so we can excel as one and form stronger bonds with one another all whilst competing with one another and having a good time.

A big shout out to the organisers, ACSA committee members (Mansur Mansuri, Walid Popal), also to Ehsan Popal and volunteers who made this all possible.

It's always a pleasure being a part of this spectacular tournament for the second time. I hope you all enjoy the photos...see you all again next year!

Excited to be a part of the ACSA Unity Cup again. It’s always challenging but very enjoyable shooting fast paced sports.

Last year was awesome...overall a very well organised event with amazing talent and skills always on display by the Afghan youth.

Come down and support your team and fellow Afghans, see you there tomorrow!
