One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that Google Photos and Google Drive are basically the same thing.

They're not.

Google Photos is designed around viewing, searching, sharing, and enjoying your photos.

Google Drive is designed around storing files and folders.

If you've spent hours creating an organised folder structure for your photos, you want to protect that organisation too, not just the photos themselves.

Google Photos can be a great place to back up photos from your phone.

Google Drive can be a great place to back up an organised folder-based photo collection.

Different tools. Different jobs.

The goal isn't just storing photos.

It's creating a photo collection you understand, control, and trust.

Want to learn more about what tools can help you achieve your goals?

When a woman becomes the person always taking the photos, she often becomes something else too: the keeper of the family’s history.

She is not just documenting milestones.
She is preserving the tiny visual details that future generations will someday search for after everything has changed.

The ordinary moments almost always become the priceless ones later.

When people are trying to "fix" their photo mess, the first solution they often think of is: "I'll put everything in iCloud."

But most photo collections started on old computers, CDs, DVDs, USB drives, external hard drives, and forgotten devices.

Simply moving all these photos into your cloud account isn't going to work.

In fact, for many people, it can create a whole new set of challenges.

Before you move thousands of photos anywhere, it's worth understanding what you're actually trying to build.

Because the goal isn't just storage.

It's creating a photo collection you trust to protect your family's memories so you can enjoy them.

To do that, you need simple system and tools to make it do-able.

That's exactly what I cover in my free workshop, Photo Organising Software Explained.

Comment SOFTWARE and I'll send you the details.

Found a CD full of family photos and not sure what to do next?

You are not alone.

A lot of older photos are still sitting on CDs and DVDs from the early 2000s — and many newer computers don’t even have a disc drive anymore.

No problem! You usually just need an inexpensive external CD/DVD reader that plugs into your computer with USB.

From there, you can:
• open the disc
• copy the photos to your computer or external hard drive
• back them up properly
• finally include them in your main photo collection

You can find one like mine on Amazon for $30-$40 AUD

Your photo organisation shouldn’t disappear the moment you leave an app. If your entire photo system only works inside one platform, you don’t really control it.

And most people don’t realise this until they try to:

download their photos
switch systems
make backups
organise properly outside the cloud

This is where the overwhelm starts.

Not because you failed.
Because no one explained how this works.

Comment SOFTWARE and I’ll send you my free workshop where I will dive into how to create an organised photo collection that you control.

This is what photo overwhelm looks like:

Phones
USBs
cloud storage
random folders
screenshots
duplicates
half-downloaded libraries
photos scattered across devices you don’t even use anymore.

Most people think they’re “bad at organising photos.”
Or worse that they are "procrasinators" or "lazy".

They’re not.

They were just never taught how to maintain a collection that keeps growing and changing media types.

And when your memories are spread across 10 different places, it feels overwhelming.

However, this can be fixed with a simple system you trust.

One place for your photos.
A clear structure you built.

You feel in control because you know how it works.

If you want to learn more about the software and system I recommend to organise and protect your photos, comment SOFTWARE and I’ll send you the details of my free workshop.

One of the hardest things to explain about photo overwhelm is that it is rarely just about photos.

To outsiders, it looks like digital clutter.

But underneath it is often a quiet fear that the memories, stories, and history of the people she loves could disappear if she does not take care of them properly.

And because modern photo systems are genuinely confusing, she quietly carries that responsibility feeling like she should somehow already know how to manage it all.

Photos scattered everywhere?

Welcome. You have found a place on the internet where this situation is normal.

There is every reason to have hope you can sort this out.

You just need a process to follow and the right tools.

And a good teacher doesn't hurt 😉

I teach women everyday to tackle their photo mess even if you feel like your tech skills are embarrassing.

They are not.

Come learn with me.

This Thursday: Master Dropbox for Your Photo Backup

Have you been curious how Dropbox works when it comes to photos?

Have you wondered if it might be the solution to backing up your collection?

We all need to protect our photos, but why would you choose Dropbox over the other options?

Dropbox offers solutions to backing up both your phone photos and your Master Photo Collection but it can be a bit tricky to navigate as there are three separate paths to creating a fail-safe system.

However, if you want a service that can do it all, Dropbox is a great choice.

And you can import directly into Lightroom Classic from Dropbox if you have it set up properly.

I will be covering all this in the May class so come join!
