Bathed in golden afternoon light, an endangered pair of Grey Crowned (Crested) Crane stand gracefully on the scorched plains of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. These stunning birds, standing about 1 metre (3.2 ft) tall are famous for their elaborate courtship dances. A captivating display of jumping, bowing and dramatic wing movements. Lifelong partners, their bond is as beautiful as their performance.
