15 years in the field. Imagine the things I’ve seen… and the mistakes I’ve made.

I started with a Gumtree ad. I photographed my very first christening at 17 years old, shooting on Auto because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

I even missed an entire christening Mass because I never confirmed the ceremony time with my client.

Years later, I had a camera fail in the middle of a paid job. Thankfully, I had a backup with me. That day taught me one of the biggest lessons of my career.

Every mistake, every awkward moment, every challenge has shaped the photographer I am today.

So when I share advice, it’s not because I read it in a book or watched it on Tik-Tok. It’s because I’ve lived it.

These are the lessons I wish someone had taught me on day one. If I can help another photographer avoid the mistakes I made, then every one of those experiences was worth it. 🤎🙏🏻
