I'm a little late in posting this - like a whole week late!

I'm fundraising for Camp Quality, looking after kids who have cancer and supporting their families, and I'm doing it in association with many of my SES friends from my SES unit at Cooranbong.

I'm going to get a minimum of 50km walked this month (already well on my way) and trying to raise at least $150 - MUCH more if I can.

Meanwhile, over Merewether Ocean Baths, NSW ...

On a cool clear pre-dawn morning, right ahead of a winter blast working it's way up the coast, I met up with some new FB friends at the Merewether Ocean Baths, south of Newcastle, NSW.

A 4am start was absolutely worth it - in the minutes before sunrise, at the end of the "blue hour", the colours were awesome.

And yes - that IS someone braving the waters and doing laps - I was amazed at how many people were winter swimming before dawn, even more so when the wind started picking up!

Meanwhile, the hunt for the Eta Aquariids 2025 continues ...

I was beautifully clear when I left home at 3:30 this morning to go and photograph the meteor shower ...
please enjoy this hyperlapse of over 3 hours of hoping the clouds would clear to give me a glimpse.
4 cameras on 3 tripods using multiple times and settings, and everything on this post came from my Samsung S23 Ultra Phone.
And such a stunning sunrise at the end of it all!

(other than adding the music to the clip, these are straight out of the phone!).

NOT what I was after, but oh how I love Lake Life !

Meanwhile, on Lake Macquarie ...

A lesson in looking behind you.
I had a super early start this morning at 2am to dial in cameras and location ahead of trying to photograph/video the Eta Aquariids over the next couple of mornings.

At one point I turned around to go and get something from my car and realised how stunning the silhouette of the trees was behind me in the near total darkness.
