Former early-childhood and primary school teacher Karenza De Leon has been crowned Miss International Australia 2026 and will represent Australia on the international stage.

De Leon, who has Filipino and Korean heritage, previously won Miss Philippines Australia 2024. Her Learning Glow Project supports students in rural communities in the Philippines and Cambodia by providing books, educational materials and sports equipment. A young doctor in Taguig is earning praise online for making medical consultations more affordable for ordinary Filipinos. Dr. Russel Nacog-ang Guadilla, 27, operates a clinic in Barangay West Rembo where he charges ₱300 for students, senior citizens and persons with disabilities, and ₱350 for regular patients.

According to multiple reports, Guadilla opened the clinic with the goal of giving residents another healthcare option, especially minimum-wage earners and families who may struggle with the cost of private medical services.

His affordable consultation fees have gained attention on social media, with many people praising his decision to keep his services within reach of patients with limited budgets. Guadilla has said that providing affordable healthcare is an important part of his purpose as a physician.

Healthcare can become difficult to access when even a simple consultation is beyond a family’s budget. Doctors who find ways to make their services more affordable show how professional success and compassion can work together—because sometimes helping one patient at a time can already make a meaningful difference.
