Rohingya boys play football every day on open ground inside the refugee camp, even during the monsoon season, despite having no proper football field. Watching them reminds me of my own childhood. Football brings them joy and helps them forget their struggles, even if just for a while. Though the field is not ideal, their love for the game remains strong.

In the heart of the Kutupalong refugee camp the world’s largest refugee settlement in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh a man named Rahim Ullah sits on the bare earth, weaving hope into every strand of bamboo. Once a humble farmer in Rakhine State, Myanmar, Rahim fled violence and persecution with his family during the 2017 crisis. Now, in his sixties, with weathered hands and a face marked by resilience, he has turned to the age-old craft of basket weaving. It’s not just a skill passed down from generations it’s his way of preserving dignity, of staying rooted in identity amid displacement.
